Free elections mean people are free to vote how they want. You may not like it but trying to criminalize it is against liberty. People can vote for who or what they want. They can register for the party they want, and can vote for who/what they want.
Free elections = freedom. What you're arguing for is a loss of freedom because you don't like how people are exercising their freedom to vote.
Voter ID is to ensure the correct person is casting a legit vote. They are still free to vote how they want.
As far as I'm concerned the party primaries shouldn't exist.

First, no we're not a country of laws. The Constitution of the United States is the Supreme Law of the land, and that law is ignored by this government daily. The US government is lawless.
That said, this is a problem of the two party system. Removing your freedom to vote how you want, including registering to fix a broken two party system, thus making voting even less free is NOT the answer.
