Study Predicts Thousands of U.S. Cities Will be ‘Ghost Towns’ by the Year 2100

 

A new study is predicting that thousands of American cities will become ‘ghost towns’ by the year 2100, due to a mix of various social and economic factors.

 

We already see massive decay in some American cities, Detroit and various locations in Appalachia come to mind immediately.

 

Progressive policies on not enforcing the law are causing businesses to flee cities that were doing fine just a few years ago, so is this theory really so difficult to believe?

 

Thousands of US cities are predicted to become ghost towns by 2100: New study A new study using existing trends from over the past 20 years predicted population decline in thousands of American cities over the next 80 years.

 

Researchers at the University of Illinois Chicago used population projections to find that, by the year 2100, almost half of nearly 30,000 cities in the U.S. will experience a population decline.

 

The population decline would represent 12%–23% of the population of these cities, the study states. The aftermath of such a decline will bring “unprecedented challenges,” the study explains further.

A Conservative Executive Has Bought the Baltimore Sun Newspaper and the Left is Freaking Out

 

A conservative executive with the Sinclair Broadcasting Group has bought the Baltimore Sun newspaper and people in liberal media are losing their minds.

 

Media bias has become such a given, that the left can’t even contemplate not controlling every media outlet and being able to set the narrative on everything, especially politics.

 

Would it have been better to let the Baltimore Sun just die and for jobs to be destroyed?

In February 2021, liberal journalists (correctly) were crestfallen that Tribune, The Baltimore Sun’s parent company, would merge with Alden Global Capital, an infamous newspaper conglomerate known for stripping down newspapers to ghost status with, in some cases, only one staff writer and the thickness of a store-brand napkin.

 

After it was announced Monday that local businessman and Sinclair Broadcasting Group executive Chairman David Smith had rescued The Sun with plans to revitalize it to a robust status, the left is apoplectic…

CNN reacted the way you’d expect. Oliver Darcy, their deranged liberal media hall monitor, whined in his media newsletter that it’s a “deal that has set off alarm bells” since Smith’s local stations around the country “has previously inserted right-wing editorial segments into its local news broadcasts.”

 

Writing on Threads and X, NPR media writer and former Sun reporter David Folkenflik huffed that “Smith was dismissive of the Sun‘s journalism” and “deflected questions about his own political activities.”

 

He also seethed that “Smith has been a major funder of GOP candidates; more recently he has funded far-right outfits like Project Veritas and Turning Point USA & financed local ballot initiatives.”

Showdown: Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton Issues Scorching Response to DHS Cease-and-Desist Order Texas Won’t Back Down.

 

On January 14th, the Department of Homeland Security sent a cease-and-desist letter to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton demanding that the Texas Military Department end it’s “enhanced border security measures in Eagle Pass’s Shelby park.” DHS demanded they comply by today, January 17th. The Gateway Pundit reported that armed Texas National Guardsmen had kicked out U.S. Border Patrol and CBP agents from Eagle Pass’s Shelby Park in the Rio Grande sector.

AG Paxton published a response letter today debunking several claims made by DHS in their original letter, stating, “Because the facts and law side with Texas, the State will continue utilizing its constitutional authority to defend her territory, and I will continue defending those lawful efforts in court.”

 

“Your demand letter rests on a more fundamental misunderstanding of federal law and the role of sovereign States within our constitutional order,” writes AG Paxton. He then cites the federal statute DHS invoked in their letter that gives US Border Patrol “warrantless access to land within 25 miles of the border”. But AG Paxton points out that it states “for the purpose of patrolling the border to prevent the illegal entry of aliens into the United States.”

AG Paxton argued that because a federal court found DHS as an “utter failure…to deter, prevent and halt unlawful entry into the United States”, DHS cannot “claim the statutory duties [it is] so obviously derelict in enforcing as excuses to puncture to puncture [Texas’s] attempts to shore up the [Biden Administration’s] failing system.” Texas v DHS, 2023 WL 8285223.

 

In return, AG Paxton wrote that the Biden Administration had failed to uphold their duties under Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution that states the federal government “shall protect each of [the States] against Invasion.”

 

The letter then lists several “false claims” that “must be debunked”, including the claim that U.S. Border Patrol is being restricted from responding to a medical emergency in part because they withdrew from Shelby Park last year:
