In a recent article, Dr. Jacob Nordangård highlighted a 2019 letter to UN Secretary-General António Guterres from over 400 civil society organisations which condemned the World Economic Forum-United Nations (“WEF-UN”) partnership.
As Dr. Nordangård pointed out, all is not as it seems.
The open letter called for Guterres to terminate the then-recently signed United Nations-World Economic Forum strategic partnership agreement. However, the letter was concerned that the partnership posed a threat to the UN’s reputation.
“We are very concerned that this WEF-UN partnership agreement will de-legitimise the United Nations and provide transnational corporations preferential and deferential access to the UN System,” it said.
“This public-private partnership will permanently associate the UN with transnational corporations, some of whose core essential activities have caused or worsened the social and environmental crises that the planet faces,” the open letter stated.
In June 2019, WEF signed a strategic partnership with the UN to execute the UN’s agenda. WEF committed itself to financing Agenda 2030 and working with areas like climate change, health, digital cooperation, gender and education.

A Liberal MP has said he thinks it’s time for the party to consider conducting a leadership review of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, citing what appears to be a “hatred out there right now” for the Liberal leader.
During an interview with Radio-Canada, Newfoundland MP Ken McDonald wouldn’t go as far as to say Trudeau should step down, but did express his desire for an organized review of Trudeau’s leadership within the party.
A review would allow party members to freely express themselves and for other MPs to come forward as potential candidates for the position.
“As a party, let’s clear the air and if people are still intent on having the leader we have now, fine. But at least give people the opportunity to have their say in what they think the direction the party is going,” said McDonald.
He credits Trudeau for the Liberals’ sweeping election win in 2015, the same year McDonald was first elected, but said that Canadians’ views of Trudeau have since shifted.
“In 2015, it was him that won the election. He won the government,” he said. “He convinced Canadians that this was the time to switch parties and put in a different government. In a groundbreaking study conducted by the Global Institute for Food Security at the University of Saskatchewan, Canadian farmers, particularly in Saskatchewan, have emerged as global leaders in low-carbon agriculture.
This revelation challenges claims made by the Trudeau government which has accused grain growers of being among the world’s worst emission offenders.
The study, first commissioned in 2022, analyzed the carbon footprint of key Canadian field crops, including canola, wheat, and lentils. These crops were compared to their counterparts in major exporting regions such as Australia, France, Germany, Italy, and the United States.
The carbon footprint assessment encompassed emissions from crop cultivation, as well as supply chain activities like transportation and processing.
The results paint a compelling picture of Canada’s eco-friendly farming practices. Canadian canola, for instance, boasts a carbon footprint that is 60% lower than the global weighted average.
Saskatchewan, taking the lead, achieves an even more impressive 67% reduction. This means that every tonne of Canadian canola saves over 1.3 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions compared to the global average. Continue…
Environment Canada clarifies that pizza ovens don’t meet pollutant threshold

Environment Canada announced that it does not plan to regulate emissions from wood-fired ovens, used predominantly by pizzerias and bagel shops after several media outlets, including True North, picked up the story from the Montreal Gazette.
The Gazette piece alleged that a branch of Environment and Climate Change Canada, called the National Pollutant Release Inventory, had been in contact with several Montreal restaurants that use wood-fired ovens to determine whether or not they meet the emission-reporting threshold for pollutants.
The NPRI is a public inventory that tracks over 3,000 pollutants across Canada but does not set emission limits or enforce compliance, it only collects the data.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre addressed the story on social media, saying that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had launched “a crusade against pizza ovens.”
“Don’t worry about your 100% increase or the fact you can’t feed yourself,” said Poilievre, while speaking in a Vancouver pizza restaurant on Monday. “Justin Trudeau is spending your money going after pizza ovens here and everywhere and he will not stop until this crisis is resolved.”
Health Canada warned of the effects of wood smoke for carrying pollutants like carbon monoxide on its website.

The man police allege is responsible for shooting up Edmonton’s City Hall on Tuesday said in a video before the rampage that he was “just tired of seeing the tyranny and corruption taking over our society and our lives.”
In a four-minute video shared and reported on by Rebel News, journalist Adam Soos identified as Bezhani Sarvar takes aim at “wokism,” the housing crisis, multiculturalism, and what he says is the “genocide” in Gaza.
“As-Salaam-Alaikum. Brothers and sisters, before I do my mission, I want you all to know that I am not a psychopath. I do not believe in bloodshed. I am not one of these monsters that hurt children, that hurt innocents, and that promote wars all around the civilization of our society,” the man in the video says.

MPs demand emergencies act committee responds to federal court ruling

Six Members of Parliament across party lines have released a joint statement calling for the Special Joint Committee on the Declaration of Emergency to respond to the recent federal court ruling which found that the invocation of the Emergencies Act was unreasonable and unconstitutional.
“A Federal Court ruled that the government’s use of the Emergencies Act in 2022 was illegal and unconstitutional. A federal judge has ruled that Justin Trudeau and his Cabinet acted outside of their legal authority in invoking the Act and that the special laws they made during the so-called “emergency” violated the fundamental rights and freedoms guaranteed to Canadians under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms,” reads the statement.
The committee was established to review whether the federal government’s use of the Emergencies Act was legitimate and is a mandatory requirement under the law.
The signatures of the statement include MPs Larry Brock, Rob Moore, Tako van Popta and Frank Caputo from the Conservative Party, NDP MP Randall Garrison and Bloc Quebecois MP Rhéal Éloi Fortin.
“The court ruling officially confirms that, by employing the Emergencies Act, the Trudeau government broke the law and treated the rights and freedoms of Canadians as expendable. An instructor at British Columbia’s Langara College who called Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel an “amazing, brilliant offensive” says she’s been reinstated after having previously been suspended for her reprehensible comments.
As reported by the Langara Voice, Natalie Knight, an English instructor and Indigenous curriculum consultant at the college, announced that the college reinstated her while speaking at a protest this week.
“I’ve been reinstated as an instructor with no disciplinary actions, which means we won,” claimed Knight. “It means I did nothing wrong. It means none of you are doing anything wrong.”
Knight also told the Langara Voice she would be returning to the college this semester. “I’m going to be back at work very soon,” she said.
The progressive professor came under fire for celebrating Hamas’ massacre of Israelis at a protest in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery last October.
“This was a feat of determination and ingenuity only eclipsed by the amazing, brilliant offensive waged on Oct. 7,” Knight said at the time.

25% of businesses missed pandemic loan repayment deadline

Over 25% of businesses missed the deadline to repay their Canada Emergency Business Account loans, which were due last Thursday, according to estimates from the federal government.
The CEBA program was the most commonly used pandemic support program for businesses, which dished out loans of $40,000 or $60,000 to almost 900,000 companies during the lockdown years of 2020-2022.
More than $49-billion was ultimately given out to business across the country.
Businesses which did manage to repay their loans before the recent deadline were qualified for loan forgiveness of either $10,000 or $20,000, depending on the initial loan and were not charged any interest.
However, outstanding loans will accrue an annual interest rate of 5% and will be due in full by Dec. 31, 2026.
“Thank you to all the small businesses who did the right thing to keep Canadians safe and then continued to remain resilient and persevere through some very challenging times,” said Small Business Minister Rechie Valdez during a federal cabinet retreat in Montreal on Monday. Continue…

A recent study conducted by Statistics Canada reveals concerning trends among Syrian refugees who arrived in Canada as government-assisted refugees under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s resettlement program.
The study, titled “The short-term labour market outcomes of blended visa office-referred refugees,” authored by Yasmin Gure and Feng Hou, reveals that government-assisted refugees had some of the worst labour market outcomes when compared to other classes.
Researchers highlighted that 42.3% of the 2014 cohort of government-assisted refugees aged 15 to 54 still relied on social assistance six years after landing in Canada.
The situation worsened for subsequent cohorts, with the 2015 arrivals, coinciding with the Liberal government’s initiation of Operation Syrian Refugee, showing a 50.4% reliance on social assistance after five years.
Social assistance reliance was even higher for the 2016 cohort, while Syrian resettlement continued, with 69.5% of government-assisted refugees reporting reliance on social assistance four years after landing. Continue…

Yesterday, Justice Richard Mosley determined that Justin Trudeau’s invocation of the Emergencies Act was unconstitutional. Not hours later, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland announced on behalf of Trudeau’s government that the decision would be appealed.
As expected, Prime Minister Trudeau hid himself from criticism.
Trudeau’s government faced an onslaught of backlash for their decision to appeal this ruling – let alone the backlash for implementing the Emergencies Act in the first place – including from Alberta’s Premier Danielle Smith.
Premier Smith highlights the stance Alberta has taken on the Emergencies Act since its invocation, that it was not needed, violated constitutional rights, and gave incredibly overpowered abilities to the federal government without due process of law.
Smith also highlights the reality which is, Trudeau has a continuing history of using the legal system to promote politically ideological campaigns. The Liberal plastic straw ban was overturned by the Federal Court as well, and again Trudeau’s government is appealing this decision.
Likewise Premier Scott Moe of Saskatchewan sheds light on the federal government’s continued pursuits against Canadians.
Justin Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act during the Freedom Convoy, and this caused peaceful demonstrators to be violently arrested, vehicles and bank accounts to be seized, and our rights and freedoms to be stripped overnight. Regardless of whether Trudeau’s government wins an appeal using your tax money, it’s clear Trudeau does not respect the rights of Canadians, or even premiers.

Ottawa is investigating India as part of a probe into suspected “foreign interference” in the 2019 and 2021 national elections. The development comes against the backdrop of a diplomatic row between the two countries after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged that “Indian agents” could have been involved in the assassination of a Sikh activist on Canadian soil last year.
An independent commission, which was set up by Trudeau in September last year amid reports of alleged Chinese election meddling, has now asked the government to “share information about possible meddling” by India.
The probe also named China and Russia, among others. In its statement, the Canadian commission vowed to “evaluate the actions taken in response, assess the federal government’s capacity to detect, deter, and counter foreign interference, and make recommendations on these issues.”
Trudeau launched the investigation after leaked intelligence documents seemed to suggest that China interfered on behalf of candidates who were friendly toward President Xi Jinping’s government.
