Morning!

Several follow-ups: 1. OLD UA livery. Still looking for a date the last UA 744 was repainted BUT whatever that date is, that's the latest the pic could have been taken.

The best resource I've found for this info is https://sites.google.com/site/unitedfleetsite/removed-mainline-aircraft

  1. HNL (and I suspect ICN / Seoul) don't fit here. The HNL flight was a special farewell flight for nostalgic plane fags like myself. SFO HNL was not regularly serviced by the 744s save for special occasions or peak days. Moreover, N118UA, the specific frame to fly the final SFO > HNL > SFO flight would have done so under the CO / Globe livery, not the old UA / Tulip livery.

  1. Misc notes: before the UA Club near gate 100 was a UA club, it was the UA International First Class Lounge. The nuance here is to access a UA IFL you had to be in First (not Business) class on UA, first class on a star alliance partner airline, or received a one-off invite as a UA Global Services member - UA's designation for high-level customers. IF this picture was taken when the facility was STILL an IFL, then whoever was in there was either in first class on UA, UA's partners, or very high level (read: high spender) UA passenger.

I should also note the other Q drop taken from the back of a Mercedes where you could see a UA739 would only be possible if you were a high level UA passenger as the carrier only offers such transfers (i.e., meeting them as soon as they step off the plan, escorting them down onto the tarmac, chauffeur them to their next gate in a merc, walking them up to the jetbridge from the tarmac, and then boarding the plane) to these customers.

Either way, these UA pics Q's dropping are only possible for someone who's spending big bucks with the carrier.

Correct. Last UA 747 flight was on November 7, 2017. SFO HNL > SFO.
