Former President Donald Trump came to the podium with a far less conciliatory tone in his New Hampshire GOP primary victory speech Tuesday night, dropping his unity message with heavy-handed hits on Nikki Haley.
"Thank you for the victory: It's wonderful," Trump said, pausing his Haley hits before picking right back up with the competitive fire.
"Who the hell was the impostor that went up on the stage before and, like, claimed a victory? She did very poorly.
"Actually, she had to win, the governor said she's gonna win. She's gonna win. She's gonna win. Then she failed badly."
Trump was widely praised for his gracious victory speech after the Iowa landslide, but his tone after New Hampshire's rare back-to-back victory was far more vitriolic at his opponent and former ambassador.
"They said, 'wow, what a great victory,' but then somebody ran up to the stage all dressed up nicely," Trump said, coming out firing.
"Wow, she's doing a speech like she won. She didn't win. She lost."
Trump admitted he was talking the gloves off – a figure of speech he used in campaign rallies when President Joe Biden's Justice Department started indicting him almost one year ago.
"This is not your typical victory speech, but let's not have somebody take a victory when she had a very bad night," Trump continued. "She had a very bad night."
Trump added "I don't get too angry, I get even."
