If you're not pandering to (their) bullshit by living in houses that are 2 bedroom or more, driving cars newer than 12 yrs old (limit for registration based on value in my state), and not paying through the nose for taxes you can do quite well.

I could have several more bedrooms in my house if I cared to remodel my basement but I haven't bothered. What is the definition of a "permanent" bedroom? How do I get around that definition?

What's it like when you're 20 years old? You don't have much for connections. Give yourself 5-10 years to start seeing the world for the way it really works. That older generation will be dying off…. their things and ways of making money will become available or sold…. and the knowledge will be lost…. unless you take the time to learn from them.

Things haven't changed much in the last 50 years and won't change much in the next 50 for all practical purposes.
