1) They are trying to frame the issue as: "we tried to pass a super good border bill, but evil Republicans blocked it", while in reality this was the "5000 illegals a day" bill. The enemy is very focused in controlling the optics of the situation, specially among his electorate.
2) On the real political front, Biden has blocked the gas exports, which is basically sanctions on Texas. Abbott has not responded to this yet, but he should.
