How come the courts in my area only accept cash?

Friend just told me they said he needed to get cash, they wouldn't accept a debit card.

Are they trying to wash some money and do trickery with the books.

A Government courthouse forcing you to engage in tyranny should accept all methods of payment, everybody else does.
