Update(1908ET): Public outrage and massive pushback has ensued after in a Monday interview White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre asserted that the three US troops killed by the drone strike in Jordan had died "fighting on behalf of this administration"…that is Biden, rather than America.

Sometimes the DOD will offer tech that they have developed to NASA to use.

For example…if the DOD developed an Earth observing telescope that could be slightly modified to view space…that might be something offered.

If you notice the Hubble launch was on Discovery…it's previous mission was a DOD flight. If you were to launch two telescopes of the same physical configuration, you would want to use the same shuttle…only need to configure the shuttle once and use twice…

9 November 22, 1989 STS-33 Launched DOD Magnum ELINT satellite. 5 days, 00 hours,

06 minutes, 49 seconds

10 April 24, 1990 STS-31 Launch of Hubble Space Telescope (HST). 5 days, 01 hours,

16 minutes, 06 seconds

Next fun question to ask is…how is Hubble still in orbit?

Hubble has no propellant to keep it in orbit…it's design was to have the shuttle re-boost it's orbit every 7 years…else orbit will decay and re-enter.
