As a former immigration attorney for DHS, I’d like to explain that we already have all the proper laws for closing the border on the books. (Passed by Congress a long time ago.) What happens is that the Executive Branch, in charge of “enforcing” the laws, decides not to enforce them. I began my career at ICE right before Obama became president. And then I watched Obama decide not to enforce the laws as written. It was maddening! Now fast-forward… the “Biden” administration is not only refusing to enforce the laws, but helping the invasion along.
To be clear: Congress doesn’t need to “pass a border deal.” The President needs to enforce the laws already on the books. DHS, ICE, and CBP (Border Patrol) are all part of the Executive Branch. The President has authority to tell CBP and ICE: “do nothing.” And they have to do nothing. And I bet they all HATE it as much as we do!!!

Has anyone ever read Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act?
It states: "Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate."
So, right now, there is a law on the books that Biden can use to immediately suspend the illegals coming across our border.
Don't give me the line about them needing to pass a new bill chock-full of work permits to secure our border.
