John Kirby [White House press conference]: We believe that the attack in Jordan was planned, resourced, and facilitated, by an umbrella group called the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, which contains multiple groups, including Kataib Hezbollah.

Kirby: Right now, as you and I are speaking, we aren't sending additional security assistance to Ukraine. There's nothing left. We've got to have that funding.

Reporter: On East Palestine; why did the administration decide that things have coalesced, and it's now the time for [Biden] to go?

Jean-Pierre: The mayor and community leaders invited [Biden] to meet with East Palestine residents and also assess the recovery process that's been going on for some time now…with this invitation, obviously, very recent, and the current status of the recovery, we felt that the time was right…we got an invitation from the mayor and community leaders to come, very, very recently, and so we are working with them to figure out the best time to do that in February.

Jean-Pierre: The country is experiencing an unprecedented youth mental health crisis. That's a fact…and there is now undeniable evidence that social media and other online platforms have contributed to that.

Reporter: When [Biden] is in East Palestine, will he drink the water there?

Jean-Pierre: I mean, look, what I can tell you is [Biden's] focus has been to do everything he can to support this community from day one…this is not about some sort of a political stunt here…this is about [Biden] showing up for this community. That's what this is about. I'm not going to get into some sort of political stunts about drinking water.
