Between the Red Cross and Doctors without Borders, migrants from the Darien Gap are provided nearly 100% safe passage. The map of the medical facilities along the route is incorporated by the Red Cross in their hand bill at the Darien Gap.

The migrants are then instructed how to safely hop The Beast (a train in Mexico), given medication for various ailments, provided in some cases with border to border transportation.

I just learned that on Jan. 24th, 2024 a new policy was implemented for lawful visa holders to the US who overstay. They will no longer lose their visa (using issued for 10 years) or be deported. They will be given extensions upon discovery.
