Syria condemns US aggression on eastern region, rejects American Administration’s lies to justify the attack

Damascus, SANA- Syria condemned on Saturday the US new attack on the eastern region Saturday dawn, saying it categorically rejects all lies promoted by the US administration to justify this attack.

“It is not surprising that the American attack targets the eastern region of Syria, where our Syrian forces are fighting against the remnants of Daesh terrorist organization, while the United States is working to revive ISIS terrorist activity,” Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement Saturday.

The statement added that today’s attack on Syrian territory adds to the US record of violations against Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its people, proving once again that it is the main source of global instability and that its military forces threaten international peace and security and ignites conflict in the region.

“The Syrian Arab Republic expresses its deep concern over the state of paralysis of the UN Security council as the US hinders its ability to assume it responsibilities in halting such dangerous violations,” the statement added.

RFK Jr. Condemns Biden Airstrikes in Iraq, Syria

Here’s what the independent presidential candidate RFK Jr. had to say on the matter via Twitter/X (emphasis added):

Both Iraq and Syria have asked the U.S. to leave their territory. The Iraqi Parliament voted unanimously for U.S. troops to leave in 2020, and were only allowed to stay because Trump threatened sanctions and to confiscate Iraq's own oil and tax revenue held at the NY Fed. Biden has maintained this policy of occupation by economic blackmail.

In the same way that the U.S. would not tolerate Russian forces in Cuba and Russia would not tolerate NATO forces in Ukraine, Iran does not tolerate U.S. forces on its border.

We must get unwelcome ground troops out of the Mideast, and maintain only long-standing bases welcomed by their national hosts. We must focus instead on bolstering our Sunni allies in the region, committing to enforcement of shipping lanes (an extension of Fortress America), and fostering diplomatic summits where grievances can be aired, trust can be built, and piecemeal solutions can be negotiated by those nations who have a right and reason to be on the ground out there.

We are risking our young people's lives and spending money we do not have. These tiny outposts have no ability to stop Iran attacking our allies or getting the bomb. All they do is open the U.S. up to mandatory escalations each time an American hero gets killed.

But perhaps that is the point.

SERIES OF UKRAINIAN DRONE STRIKES DAMAGED RUSSIAN REAR OIR REFINERIES

The Ukrainian military continues attempts to defeat the Russian infrastructure facilities in the rear areas, which are involved in the processing and export of petroleum products. On the night of February 3, large fire broke out at the oil refinery of Lukoil in the Volgograd region.

According to local officials, the wreckage of an intercepted Ukrainian drone fell on the factory grounds, causing a fire. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the interception of two Ukrainian UAVs in the region. In total, the Defense Ministry reported that Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed seven Ukrainian drones over different regions of the country. Two more were shot down in the evening of February 4.

The press service of Lukoil confirmed the incident, saying the fire had been extinguished by morning. The attack resulted in no casualties. The oil refinery is operating normally.

This is the third Ukrainian successful drone attack on Russian oil facilities. On January 25th, large fire broke out at an oil refinery in Tuapse as a result of Ukrainian attack. Earlier, another drone damaged the Novatek gas terminal in Ust-Luga, Leningrad region.
