The illegal immigrant influx in the US, whether real or not, is the problem which will conveniently roll us into the public acceptance (fear-based) of the next-gen über surveillance state whose infrastructure is nearly complete. Submitting to this total surveillance grid (every social interaction captured and controlled) will be “necessary” for our safety.
