A dozen victims of dead pedophile Jeffrey Epstein have filed a lawsuit against the US government, alleging that the FBI enabled his sex trafficking operation to continue for over two decades.

The victims, whose names are not public, allege the FBI had received tips about Epstein’s behavior as far back as 1996 but did nothing with the information.

The Hill reports, “A probe finally began in 2006, the suit says, but ended once Epstein pleaded guilty to a soliciting prostitution charge in Florida and was sentenced to 18 months in prison. The suit claims the FBI continued to ignore tips until Epstein was arrested on sex trafficking charges in 2019. He killed himself in prison months later.”

“As a direct and proximate cause of the FBI’s negligence, plaintiffs would not have been continued to be sex trafficked, abused, raped, tortured and threatened,” the complaint states, according to the report. “Jane Does 1-12 bring this lawsuit to get to the bottom — once and for all — of the FBI’s role in Epstein’s criminal sex trafficking ring.”

At 0105 ET, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket blasted off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, propelling an American spacecraft successfully into space and, in one week, could be the first US lander to touch down on the lunar surface since the Apollo 17 moon landing in 1972.

Called Nova-C, the spacecraft is built by Houston-based Intuitive Machines. It will attempt to land on the lunar surface next Thursday (Feb 22). This will be the fourth attempt to reach the moon after three other failed attempts, including one by a US firm, another by a Japanese company, and a third by an Israeli nonprofit.

In an interview quoted by the New York Times, Stephen Altemus, the president and chief executive of Intuitive Machines, stated: "I feel fairly confident that we're going to be successful softly touching down on the moon," adding, "We've done the tests. We tested and tested and tested. As much testing as we could do."

NASA is the top customer of this mission, paying Intuitive Machines $118 million to take several payloads to the lunar surface, including a stereo camera to monitor lunar dust and a radio receiver to measure the effects of charged particles on various types of radio signals.

In about a week's time, Nova-C will enter the moon's orbit at the 62-mile mark above the surface. Twenty-four hours later, the spacecraft will fire its engines and descend to the surface. The touchdown area is near Malapert's crater, about 185 miles from the south pole.

The Democracy Fund says Elections Canada’s “disinformation” policy is flawed

A constitutional rights group has sent a letter to Elections Canada and Minister of Public Safety, Democratic Institutions, and Intergovernmental Affairs Dominic Leblanc, emphasizing that Canadians remain the arbiters of truth.

The letter came after Elections Canada recently developed a policy to monitor and counter what it calls “misinformation” and “disinformation.”

Addressed to Stéphane Perrault, Acting CEO of the Chief Electoral Office, The Democracy Fund’s letter outlines several concerns with the Elections Integrity and ElectoFacts website.

On the Election Integrity website, several types of objectionable conduct are outlined.

The conduct highlighted in the letter includes influence campaigns that undermine the electoral process, political parties or candidates using social media to disseminate false information about opponents, and external online efforts targeting diaspora communities to sway their voting decisions.

Elections Canada also purports to monitor media and the internet to identify potential election disruptions, misinformation, and impersonations that may hinder voter participation or cause confusion.

The Democracy Fund noted that Elections Canada has previously contacted social media companies to establish protocols for reporting cases of false information on the voting process and those seeking to impersonate the department.

The civil society organization noted several problems with Election Canada’s approach to monitoring online information.

One of the critiques is that it is not clear that Elections Canada has the legislative authority to report citizens or their online comments or attempt to influence platforms to remove “false information,” said The Democracy Fund in its letter.

“Even if it did, doing so without judicial review and oversight is arguably improper,” wrote senior litigator Mark A. Joseph, who signed the letter. Continue…

An ideologically charged Canadian federal government “green” program offering homeowners government money to switch their reliable heating oil furnaces for less reliable electric heat pumps has been a dismal failure, according to recently released records.

A recent Inquiry Of Ministry, as per Blacklock’s Reporter, tabled in the House of Commons showed that only 80 homeowners have thus far opted into Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government heat pump program.

Conservative Party of Canada MP Shannon Stubbs had requested from the federal government, in her Inquiry Of Ministry, an answer to the question, “How many applications for funding through the Oil To Heat Pump Affordability Program have been received?”

The original scheme was to allow $10,000 to eligible homeowners to convert from their oil-fired furnaces to an electric heat pump. Trudeau’s cabinet last October expanded the grants to $15,000 along with a $250 “one-time bonus payment.”  

Cabinet wrote in the Inquiry Of Ministry that the purchase and “installation of a new electric cold climate heat pump, save thousands of dollars annually on heating bills and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”

In total, some 286,000 Atlantic Canadians currently use furnaces fired by heating oil, and since the original program was introduced in February of last year, of 1,241 homeowners who asked for a subsidy, some 361 were denied, a rejection rate of 29 percent.

The Inquiry confirmed that only 80 oil-fired furnaces have been replaced by heat pumps nationwide.

In the video, Tucker points out that sanctions by the United States and other European nations have had no impact on grocery stores in Russia despite the corporate media claiming so.

Fani told the court:

“When you meet my father, he’s going to tell you as a woman, you should always have — which I don’t have, so don’t tell him that — should have at least six months in cash at all time,” Willis explained about the large sums of cash she would need lying around to not hit the ATM to repay Wade. “I don’t know why this old Black man feels like that, but he does.”

Fani added that she keeps between $500 and $15,000 in her house and never reimbursed Wade more than a few thousand.

Last June, the leaked contents of a stonewalled FBI document, form FD-1023, alleging that President Joe Biden was paid $5 million by an executive of Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings, where his son Hunter sat on the board, and also received an alleged $5 million.

The form, dated June 30, 2020, was from a "highly credible" confidential human source (CHS) who had detailed multiple meetings and conversations they had with a top Burisma executive over the course of several years, beginning in 2015. The CHS had been working with the FBI as a regular, reliable source of information since 2010, and has been paid approximately $200,000 by the bureau.

Now, as the 2024 election heats up, that source - Alexander Smirnov, 43, has been arrested and charged with lying about the bribes by special counsel David Weiss, who is investigating Hunter Biden.

According to the NY Times, "The story Mr. Smirnov told investigators was part of a series of explosive and unsubstantiated claims by Republicans that the Bidens engaged in potentially criminal activity — allegations central to the party’s efforts to impeach the president."

Smirnov faces a two-count indictment for making false statements and obstructing the government's long-running investigation into Hunter Biden. He faces a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison.

Smirnov was arrested in Las Vegas on Wednesday after disembarking from an international flight, and was expected to appear on Thursday before a federal judge. Continue…

The carbon tax rebate is getting a makeover from the federal government, who are now calling it the “Canada Carbon Rebate,” it had been previously known as the Climate Action Incentive Payment. Regardless of what it’s called, the price tag is still going up.

The Trudeau government announced the change on Wednesday via a Finance Canada press release. However, the change in name doesn’t come with any changes to how the federal carbon pricing scheme actually works, nor the size of its rebates.

“The name was updated to the Canada Carbon Rebate to clarify its function, and make its meaning and relationship to the carbon pricing system more intuitive for Canadians,” reads the release.

Alberta government calls on Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault “to end his relentless pursuit of a more expensive Canada.”

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and Environment Minister Rebecca Schulz issued a joint statement rejecting the rebranded federal carbon tax.

“The federal government, in its flawed environmental activism, imposed a punitive carbon tax that did not reduce emissions, but instead, raised the cost of everything,” said the province.

Previously known as the Climate Action Incentive Program, the Liberals have renamed the carbon tax the Canada Carbon Rebate. The announcement of the rebate program’s new name initially came from a Finance Canada press release, which highlighted the reimbursement amounts for Canadians this year.

Several ministers subsequently confirmed the announcement in Ottawa on Wednesday.

The rebranding of the carbon tax changes only the name, not how the federal fuel charge system or corresponding refund works.

“The name was updated to the Canada Carbon Rebate to clarify its function, and make its meaning and relationship to the carbon pricing system more intuitive for Canadians,” reads the federal government’s press release.

Despite the implementation of the federal government’s goal to reduce fertilizer emissions, Ottawa’s projections suggest that there will be no net reduction in emissions by the goal year.

The key focus lies on the “Additional Measures Scenario,” which encompasses the Liberal government’s ambitious target to slash fertilizer emissions by 30% below 2020 levels by the end of this decade.

A deeper dive into the data reveals an inconvenient reality for the federal Liberals: the projected emissions for 2030 under this scenario remain stagnant at 48 million metric tons of CO2, the same level historically recorded in 2020.

A 29-year-old man accused of killing his common-law wife, their three young children and a female relative in a crime spree on Sunday was charged the next day with five counts of first-degree murder, according to Manitoba RCMP.

All five victims and the accused lived together in the community of Carman, 75 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg. Four of the bodies were all found in various locations in southern Manitoba on Sunday.

Ryan Howard Manoakeesick is in custody after being charged with the first-degree murders of his spouse Amanda Clearwater, 30; Bethany Clearwater, 6; Jayven Clearwater, 4; Isabella Clearwater, 2 ½ months; and Amanda’s 17-year-old niece, Myah Gratton.

This one of the biggest homicide cases in Manitoba in more than a decade.

The victims and suspect are all Indigenous, as confirmed by the RCMP and the Garden Hill Indian Reserve.

It is not known why this family was living so far from Garden Hill, a reserve 610 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.

Though the RCMP did not provide a motive for the homicides at a Feb. 12 news conference, Manoakeesick, who had been in foster care since the age of eight, has a history of addiction and mental health issues. Continue…

$11M seized in biggest contraband tobacco bust in B.C. history

A months-long investigation has led to the arrest of four people in what is now the largest contraband tobacco bust in British Columbia’s history.

The estimated retail value of the cigarettes seized is about $11 million.

The investigation began on suspicion of an alleged drug and contraband network in August 2023 and spanned across multiple jurisdictions.

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, responsible for tackling gang-related crimes in the province, searched seven properties between Jan. 24 and 25 in Abbotsford, Langley, Surrey and Victoria, according to a press release from the unit on Tuesday.

The investigation led to the seizure of “32 firearms, a large quantity of ammunition, body armor, 10 pallets of contraband liquor, 35 pallets of contraband tobacco, 8 vehicles, 1 speedboat, half a kilogram of cocaine, and other items consistent with suspected drug trafficking,” reads the release.

Surging rents in Canada set new record as Alberta leads increase: report

The average rent in Canada increased 9% in 2023 to a record high of $2,178 in December 2023.

Across the country, average rents for apartments increased 12.8%, condominiums 6.9%, and houses/townhouses 5.9%, totalling an 8.6% increase across all home types, according to data released Wednesday by Rentals.ca and market research firm Urbanation.

The 8.6% increase in rents in 2023 followed a 12.1% increase in 2022 and a 4.6% increase in 2021. The five-year average annual growth in rent is 4.9%, including a 5.4% decrease in 2020 due to Covid.

Over the past two years, asking rents in Canada have increased by 22%, an average of $390 per month.

Among Canada’s largest municipalities, Calgary posted one of the fastest increases in annual rent growth, rising 14% from last year to an average of $2,071. This increase follows Quebec City at 18.9%. Calgary’s rent also increased by 22.6% in 2022.

Edmonton had average rent prices much lower than Calgary, at $1,467, but rose by 13.5%.

In Canada’s two most expensive cities to rent, Vancouver and Toronto, rental price changes were reasonable. Average asking rents for apartments in Vancouver decreased by 0.7% and increased in Toronto by 2.1% since last year. Continue…

COVID school closures were unnecessary, McMaster review finds

Researchers at McMaster University discovered that schools and daycares were not found to be significant places of high transmission rates for COVID-19, a finding standing in stark contrast with decisions by governments to close schools.

“Although the data consistently show that children can both contract and transmit COVID-19, based on published reports to date, following reopening, the risk of widespread transmission from child to child and child to adult is low, particularly when IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) measures are in place and adhered to,” read the review.

“This trend appears to be consistent in the data collected with early variants of concern. Even when absolute case numbers were high, most infections originated from outside of school.”

The review compared international transmission rates in childcare settings and schools, citing numerous databases and studies, with over 34,000 references.

The findings were published in the Lancet Child and Adolescent Health on Thursday. The results question the validity of repeatedly sending students home to learn remotely during the pandemic.

An eastern Ontario teachers’ union is warning its members they could face discipline under the human rights code regulating student misbehaviour and expressing a series of opinions, ranging from socially conservative, to apolitical and seemingly innocuous statements.

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation local for the Kingston-area Limestone District School Board (LDSB) sent its union members a “member update” warning of potential discipline for violating human rights if teachers use terms such as “blind spot” or tell a student to put their phone away.

The email, obtained by True North and published in full below, was sent by the chief negotiator for Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation district 27, John Vince. It was sent to union members this past December.

In the email, Vince tells the union membership that some views commonly held in the United States and United Kingdom are not allowed in Ontario and that expressing forbidden views could result in discipline.

“Supporting a so-called ‘right wing’ political view (example: Parental rights)” is listed as not allowed, as well as expressing “The notion that there are only two genders.” Continue…

A repeat offender who was out on bail has been arrested after the landmark church, which was embraced by the local First Nation community, was destroyed by a 'suspicious fire.'

Pastor Art Joyce tells Rebel News that a big chunk of his life went down in flames when the Chilcotin Log Church, which also served as a non-profit “free store” charity, was consumed by fire. The church, located in the British Columbia Interior near Hansville and which shared a common boundary with the East side of the Tl'etinqox Reserve (formerly Anaham reserve), was engulfed by fire in the early morning hours of February 10.

Joyce, who has lived alone since his wife’s passing, and resides approximately 50 yards away from where the church stood, says neighbours came over to his place to comfort him as they watched the church burn through his window.

Prior to that sombre moment, Joyce missed a call around 4 a.m., and he later received a voice message from another neighbour, who warned him to lock his doors because “a crazy guy” was allegedly in his home threatening him and talking about fire.

“He obviously had gas or diesel or something, because by the time I got myself out and joined another neighbour who came to check on me, the whole one side of the church was in flames,” Joyce recalled.

Joyce says the police “were right on top of it.”

RCMP officials confirmed in a statement they apprehended a man named Cassidy Baron Billy after receiving reports of a stolen vehicle, a man entering a resident and making death threats to a resident, fires to a structure on the West side of Anaham Reserve, and to the Chilcotin Log Church. Defence Minister Bill Blair pledged another $60 million to support Ukraine's military campaign with Russia. During a January 1 phone call with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau renewed Canada's unwavering support for the war-torn nation.

It's official: Canada is sending more foreign aid to Ukraine.

According to Defence Minister Bill Blair, Canadian taxpayers will provide Ukraine's F-16 fighter jets with spare parts and ammunition, worth an estimated $60 million.

Ahead of NATO meetings in Brussels, Belgium, Blair clarified the funds are part of a comprehensive $500 million military aid package announced last year. The totality of Ukrainian foreign aid is in excess of $9 billion.

According to an earlier Angus Reid poll, 61% of Canadians support current assisted dying (MAID) legislation. Ottawa permitted anyone with 'a serious and incurable illness, disease or disability' to access the procedure. 42% want the program to include mental illness — up from 31% last year.

The Trudeau Liberals have yet to sell Canadians on granting assisted suicide to those suffering from mental illness — but support is on the rise.

After Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) became legal in 2016, a Québec court expanded access after it ruled the "reasonably foreseeable" death clause unconstitutional.

In 2021, Ottawa permitted anyone with "a serious and incurable illness, disease or disability" who is in "an advanced state of irreversible decline" to access MAID — not including the mentally ill.

According to an earlier Angus Reid poll conducted with Cardus, 61% of Canadians support current MAID legislation. Another three in five (56%) endorsed the first MAID law.

But a recent Leger survey says most Canadians (77%) support the regulations as they are. Only 42% want the program to include people suffering only from mental illness — up from 31%, according to Angus Reid. Continue…

A Christian organization is suing the Quebec government after being refused access to a congress center last summer because they are pro-life.

In an exclusive interview with LifeSiteNews, Pastor Art Lucier of Harvest Ministries revealed that he has refused a $100,000 settlement and will take the Quebec provincial government to court after it banned Harvest Ministries from holding an event at a public convention center because of their pro-life moral ethic.

“We did a settlement conference last week in Quebec after I had rejected a $100,000 settlement from the Quebec government for us to just go away,” Lucier told LifeSiteNews.

“And they were going to take no responsibility for them for their actions,” he added.

Harvest Ministries International, which is based out of British Columbia, had planned to hold a religious, cultural, and artistic event called the “Battle for Canada,” at the province of Quebec’s Centre des congrès de Quebec from June 23 to July 2.

Judge Arthur Engoron fined former Donald Trump and the Trump Organization on Friday in civil a fraud case for more than $350 million and barred him from serving as an officer or director of any New York corporation for three years.

New York Attorney General Letitia James sought to essentially bankrupt Trump by calling for a $370 million fine and a lifetime of from the real estate industry in New York State. James claimed Trump committed financial fraud.

Trump plans to appeal the ruling. “This is a case that should have never been brought, and I think we should be entitled to damages,” Trump said during closing arguments.

Constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley called the ruling “confiscatory, extreme, and abusive.”
