Trump Immunity Denied By DC Appeals Court In Election Case

A three-judge panel for the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled on Tuesday that former President Trump does not have immunity from prosecution related to his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

"We have balanced former President Trump’s asserted interests in executive immunity against the vital public interests that favor allowing this prosecution to proceed," the judges wrote in a 57-page opinion reported by CNBC. "We conclude that ‘[c]oncerns of public policy, especially as illuminated by our history and the structure of our government’ compel the rejection of his claim of immunity in this case," the judges continue, upholding a trial judge's previous ruling.

Biden threatens to veto GOP Israel aid bill

Republican lawmakers have suggested passing a standalone aid package for Israel that is not tied to border security or Ukraine

US President Joe Biden has vowed to veto a Republican-proposed standalone aid package for Israel if it manages to pass through Congress. The idea to pass a “clean” aid package, not tied to border security or Ukraine, was floated by speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson last week.

A number of GOP lawmakers have been opposing a $118 billion national security package, which includes $60 billion in Ukraine military aid, $14 billion for Israel and roughly $20 billion for funding US border policy changes. The package is set to be voted on in the Senate this week.

In a statement published by the Office of Management and Budget on Monday, the White house urged both chambers of Congress to reject Johnson’s Israel-only bill, calling it “another cynical political maneuver” after the Biden administration spent “months working with a bipartisan group of Senators to reach a national security agreement that secures the border and provides support for the people of Ukraine and Israel.”

The bipartisan package also includes $10 billion in humanitarian assistance for civilians in Gaza, the West Bank and Ukraine.

“The security of Israel should be sacred, not a political game,” the statement read.

As early as November, National Security Council coordinator for strategic communications John Kirby indicated that Biden “would veto” a stand-alone Israel aid bill.

Johnson responded to the president’s veto threat this week by calling it “a betrayal of our great ally and friend Israel in their time of desperate need.”

“The idea that Joe Biden would suggest that he would not send a clean funding measure to assist them is just outrageous,” the House speaker told CNN, warning that the Senate border package would be “dead on arrival” in Congress.

He also previously criticized the Senate bill, saying it would not even “come close to ending the border catastrophe the president has created.”

The speaker urged the Senate to take up the standalone Israel aid bill, asking senators to abandon their efforts to keep Israeli aid linked with other issues.

While US lawmakers have been entangled in negotiations over the new security supplement for months, EU leaders last week signed off on a €50 billion ($54 billion) support package for Kiev “within the EU budget.” Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who originally vetoed the proposal arguing that Brussels has no idea how the monies will be spent, was reportedly “blackmailed” into accepting the deal.

FOIA’d emails obtained by independent investigator Yehuda Miller and shared on Twitter, reveal a postal worker, who asked to remain anonymous, first told MI Rep. Ellissa Slotkin’s office that “thousands of ballots are sitting in the main Detroit postal service distribution center (references their warehouse).” The whistleblower mentioned that “there are boxes and boxes of ballots that have not been counted and the reason being given is because there are not enough sorters.”

The whistleblower complaint was forwarded to MI AG Nessel’s Chief of Staff, Zaineb Hussein.

EU FOLDS, FARMERS WIN: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen Will Scrap Green ‘Sustainable Use Regulation’ Aiming To Halve Fertilizer Usage

After months of continental mobilization, all signs seem to indicate that farmers have achieved a major victory against the European Union and its failed, crippling ‘green’ policies and regulations.

Unprecedented protests rocked Europe from east to west, from north to south. A non-exhausting list would include France, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Ireland, Italy, and of course Belgium – with farmers converging to Brussels to protest in front of the European Parliament.

Mostly, the MSM tried to characterize the protest as being about ‘subsidies’ and ‘protection against products from lesser regulated countries’ – but a core demand that united all nationalities was the stark rejection of the ‘Global warming’ climate alarmism, and the policies and regulations derived from it.

One such monstrosity is the ‘Sustainable Use Regulation’ (SUR), who aimed to halve the use of pesticides – and possibly bankrupt all the farmers in the process.

Now, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen proposed withdrawing the EU’s plan, calling it a ‘symbol of polarization’.

‘I know that they are worried about the future of agriculture and their future as farmers. But they also know that agriculture needs to move to a more sustainable model of production so that their farms remain profitable in the years to come’.”

Besides farmers protesting against rising costs, taxes, and cheap food imports, one main demand is against constraints meant ‘to fight climate change’.

European farmers’ lobby COPA-COGECA welcomed Von der Leyen’s remarks:

“‘The EU Commission finally acknowledges that its approach was not the right one, and so strengthens the credibility and importance of the current strategic dialogue’, the lobby’s president Christiane Lambert said in a post on social media platform X.”

This was not the first or only ‘concession’ by the EU. Last week, the EU proposed ‘an exemption on rules requiring farmers to leave part of their land fallow’.

“Belgian’s Prime Minister Alexander De Croo welcomed the proposal in a post on X, saying it was ‘crucial we keep our farmers on board to a more sustainable future of farming, as part of our determination to get the Green Deal done’.”

So, in an attempt to undo the knot that farmers tied around Europe’s cities and roads, Ursula von der Leyen announced today (6) the withdrawal of the SUR, marking ‘the first defeat of the Green Deal’.

Gender Doctor Says Parents Who Oppose Transitioning Their Kid Have ‘Mental Illness’

Psychologist Dr. Harriette Wimms told attendees at a medical training summit in 2022 that parents who do not affirm their child’s gender identity have a “mental illness,” according to audio obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The discussion took place at the World Professional Association for Transgender Health’s (WPATH) 27th annual training symposium in Montreal, Canada, on Sept. 17, 2022. Wimms, clinical director for The Village Family Support Center of Baltimore, suggested in a WPATH lecture on autism that parents who don’t affirm their children’s decisions are “transphobic” and have a “mental illness,” according to audio obtained in a public records request.

Wimms, alongside several other doctors, were discussing a case regarding a young adult referred to as “Silvian,” a biological female identifying as a man, who is also autistic and dependent on parents who would not affirm Silvian’s gender identity, according to the audio.

“Sylvian is a 22-year-old young man and uses he/him pronouns,” the panel explained. “In terms of gender history, Sylvian was assigned female at birth, and first identified as a man at age 19. While in college, he remembers feeling uncomfortable living as a girl while in high school, but he didn’t say anything about it, because he didn’t know exactly what was going on for him.”

The panel goes on to say that Silvian’s parents, upon finding out about his transition, were upset “but assumed that this was a phase,” according to the audio. Wimms, however, had other thoughts about the parents’ beliefs.

“Here in the States, Janet Helms is a researcher who has explored racism for years and years and she says that racism and other isms are [a] mental illness and need to be addressed,” Wimms said. “And I think if I were working with this client I just might say ‘Okay, your parents, unfortunately, they are transphobic and I’m sorry and let’s figure out some ways to deal with their mental illness.'”

Wimms added that this could entail the patient having a “home life” as well as a “social life” where they could be themselves.

Other medical professionals at the WPATH summit also discussed working with parents who were reluctant to affirm a child’s transgender identity, with one doctor saying that it all comes down to “the messaging,” according to videos obtained exclusively by the DCNF.

Dr. Scott Leibowitz, a psychiatrist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Ohio and a member of WPATH, responded to a question from an audience member about how to deal with parents who are against menstrual suppression, which is a medication that can be used to stop girls who identify as male from beginning their periods.

“So from my perspective, when I frame it next to hormones; usually they are like ‘Okay let’s do menstrual suppression,” he explained as the audience laughed. “It’s all about the delivery and the messaging.”

Ex-Atlantic City council president charged in voter fraud scheme

Federal authorities arrested former Atlantic City council president and Democratic operative Craig Callaway Thursday, alleging he masterminded a mail-ballot fraud scheme in the runup to the 2022 election.

U.S. Attorneys accused Callaway and other unnamed subordinates of paying Atlantic City residents between $30 and $50 to act as authorized messengers and request mail-in ballots for voters whom they had never met. Prosecutors allege that those ballots were later cast without the actual voters’ knowledge.

The charges appear to stem from work Callaway did for Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s 2022 reelection campaign. There’s no indication Van Drew (R-02) knew about the alleged scheme.

“Holding free and fair elections is a bedrock principle of our democracy,” U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said in a statement. “As alleged in the complaint, the defendant attempted to deprive New Jersey residents of a fair election by fraudulently procuring and casting ballots. Today’s charges reflect our office’s commitment to hold to account those who try to undermine the electoral process.”

Prosecutors did not seek to detain Callaway before trial, though he must provide a $50,000 appearance bond, forgo international travel, and avoid contact with others involved in the case as conditions of his release.

Megan Davies, Callaway’s attorney, declined to provide immediate comment. Both parties agreed to a continuance order that would delay further proceedings until March 29.

Van Drew’s 2022 campaign paid GOYV LLC, Callaway’s consulting firm, $65,500 for strategic consulting, including $25,000 in early October, when prosecutors allege the scheme began.

The congressman’s campaign denied any knowledge of the alleged scheme, adding Callaway had signed an agreement meant to prevent the sort of conduct he faces charges over.

“We never have and never would condone any illegal activity,” the campaign said in a statement. “In fact, as is always the case with our vendors, the campaign had a signed consulting contract. Mr. Callaway signed the contract for that election, and previous elections, specifically stating that as an independent contractor he ‘agrees all work and services provided shall adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.’”

Callaway faces up to five years imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release if convicted on the single charge of procuring, casting, and tabulating fraudulent ballots he faces.

The charges are not the first Callaway has faced. In 2006, he admitted accepting $36,000 in bribes from a contractor he helped to obtain city contracts. In 2008, he admitted guilt in a separate blackmail scheme targeting an Atlantic City councilman while serving the sentence of his bribery conviction.

In 2017, Assemblyman Don Guardian, then the city’s mayor, accused Callaway of a similar ballot harvesting scheme to boost Frank Gilliam, who won the election but resigned in late 2019 after pleading guilty to wire fraud over the theft of $86,000 from a youth basketball team he ran.

“It’s no secret that candidates from both parties have hired Callaway in the past to help them win elections. Those who hired him cannot plead ignorance now. Everyone in Atlantic County knows exactly what Callaway’s operation is and the blatant illegality of it all,” said Atlantic County Democratic Chairman Michael Suleiman.

Suleiman added he would lobby the Legislature’s leaders and the governor’s office to pass legislation banning payments to ballot bearers and messengers, which are not illegal in New Jersey.

Israel Withholding Intelligence Dossier on UNRWA Participation in Hamas Attack

Israel is refusing to release the full intelligence dossier it compiled about the 12 members of the UN Palestinian aid agency it alleges participated in the Hamas October 7 attack. The US and several other countries cut funding in response to the Israeli assertion, potentially igniting a famine in the besieged enclave.

UNRWA employs 30,000 people, including 12,000 in Gaza, and is the key to providing life-saving aid to the 2.3 million Palestinians in the Strip. The four-month Israeli onslaught in Gaza has caused a humanitarian crisis as nearly the entire population of the Strip has been displaced and now relies on assistance to survive.

On January 18, Israel claimed that 12 members of UNRWA participated in the October 7 Hamas attack. UNRWA quickly terminated living employees identified by Tel Aviv. Still, the US and several other top donors to UNRWA suspended funding to the group.

What intelligence Israel has about the 12 members who participated in the attack is still in question. Israel has released a summary of its intelligence dossier. However, Tel Aviv is refusing to release the complete dossier. “I don’t think we need to give intelligence information,” stated Lior Haiat, a spokesperson for Israel’s foreign ministry.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken admitted the US has not verified the Israeli assertions. On Monday, the UN announced an investigation into the accusations by Catherine Colonna, the former minister of foreign affairs of France.

Matthias Schmale, UNRWA director in Gaza from 2017 to 2021, said Hamas has no involvement in his former organization. “During my almost four years in Gaza, I had to fire only one staff member for direct involvement [in Hamas]. This was the exception, not the norm.”

He added, “Hamas de facto authorities are NOT involved in UNRWA’s core services, which include education and health. Hamas mostly respected that it cannot interfere in the running of the Agency, and we were able to conduct our work in conformity with UN standards and norms.”

The outcome of the investigation may not have much of an impact as Tel Aviv has already stated its plans for UNRWA. In the short term, Israel wants the organization to continue to deliver aid. Tel Aviv fears without the assistance, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza will grow so large that Tel Aviv will have to halt its military operations.

A memo in the Israeli military instructed officials not to criticize UNRWA until it had a replacement. That policy did not prevent Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant from telling a UN delegation that “UNRWA is Hamas with a face-lift.”

“If UNRWA ceases operating on the ground, this could cause a humanitarian catastrophe that would force Israel to halt its fighting against Hamas,” a senior Israeli official told the Times of Israel. “This would not be in Israel’s interest and it would not be in the interest of Israel’s allies either.”

That seems to be one point UNRWA and Israel agree upon. “In 4 months of war, around 100,000 people in Gaza were killed, injured, or are currently missing. This represents nearly 5% of the population. You can easily figure out what this would [mean] in your city or country,” Director of UNRWA Philippe Lazzarini posted on X.” In addition, around 17,000 [children] are unaccompanied or separated from their families. More than 80% of the population has been displaced, most several times.”

A spokesperson for the UN said, “For us, UNRWA’s activities remain essential for the survival of Palestinians in Gaza.” Michael Fakhri, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, posted on X, “Some states decided to defund UNRWA for the alleged actions of a small number of employees. This collectively punishes +2.2 million Palestinians. Famine was imminent. Famine is now inevitable.”

In the long-term, Tel Aviv is calling for the primary aid agency for the Palestinians to be abolished or undergo significant reforms post-conflict in Gaza. “We want there to be a plan of action on how to replace them. We want our international partners to either reform UNRWA entirely or to come up with an alternative,” an Israeli official explained to the Wall Street Journal. US officials told the outlet there was broad agreement with Israel on the need for reforms.

US Blocks Yemen-Saudi Peace Deal

New sanctions on the Houthis will make it impossible for the first phase of the Saudi-Houthi peace deal to be implemented

The US is purposely blocking a Yemen peace deal that was negotiated between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, The New York Times reported on Tuesday.

The US decision to re-designate the Houthis as “Specially Designated Global Terrorists” will block the payment of public sector workers living in Houthi-controlled Yemen, who have gone without pay for years.

The payment of civil workers has been a key demand of the Houthis and is part of the first phase of the peace deal. The first phase would also fully open Yemen’s airports and sea ports that have been under blockade since 2015, another aspect of the deal that will be complicated by the new US sanctions, which will go into effect later this month.

A US official told the Times that the US would only allow the payment of Yemeni civil salaries if the Houthis choose the path of “peace” and stop attacking shipping in the Red Sea. But the Houthis, who govern the most populated area of Yemen, have been clear the operations will only stop once the Israeli slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza ends.

Instead of pressuring Israel to stop its onslaught, President Biden launched a new war against the Houthis, which has dramatically escalated the situation. The Houthis are now targeting American and British commercial shipping, and there’s no sign they will back down.

Since January 12, the US has launched at least 18 rounds of missile strikes on Houthi-controlled Yemen. President Biden has acknowledged the strikes are not “working” since they haven’t stopped Houthi attacks. But he vowed to continue bombing Yemen anyway.

The US supported a Saudi/UAE-led coalition in Yemen in a brutal war that killed at least 377,000 people between 2015 and 2022. More than half of those killed died of starvation and disease caused by the bombing campaign and blockade.

A truce between the Saudis and Houthis has been held since April 2022, but a formal peace deal hasn’t been signed. Despite the new US bombing campaign, the Saudis and Houthis appear determined not to restart the war. When President Biden launched his bombing campaign in Yemen, Saudi Arabia urged the US to “avoid escalation.”

This week, a Houthi official said the Yemeni group was ready to formally make peace with the Saudis. “Sanaa is prepared for peace with Riyadh despite the challenges posed by the US and its associated Yemeni groups,” said Hussein al-Ezzi, the Houthi deputy foreign minister.

Some members of the US-backed Yemeni presidential council are calling for a ground campaign against the Houthis. But the council does not have much influence and is known in Yemen as the “government of hotels” since many of its members are in exile.

37,000 Chinese nationals arrested at US-Mexico border in 2023: Report

A new report claims the fastest-growing group of illegal immigrants entering the United States along the southern border is from China, with roughly 37,000 Chinese nationals reportedly apprehended at the border last year alone.

According to data provided by the Department of Justice, 55% of Chinese immigrants were granted asylum in 2023, compared with 14% for immigrants of other nationalities. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, 60 Minutes cited U.S. Customs and Border Protection, claiming that 37,000 Chinese nationals were apprehended while illegally attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border last year.

According to CBS News, reporters recently witnessed large groups of Chinese migrants entering the United States through a 4-foot gap in border fencing near San Diego, California. Over a four-day period, CBS News witnessed roughly 600 illegal immigrants from around the world crossing through the 4-foot gap in the border fence, with a high percentage of the illegal immigrants coming from China.

CBS News reported that many of the Chinese immigrants illegally crossing into the United States have received thorough instructions for hiring human smugglers and accessing the gap in the border fence on the Chinese social media platform TikTok. Talking with some of the Chinese immigrants, CBS News discovered that some of the illegal immigrants flew from China to Ecuador since the country does not require Chinese nationals to have visas. From Ecuador, the Chinese individuals flew to Tijuana, where they hired smugglers for $400 per person to drive them to the gap in the border fencing.

In first bilateral visit, Argentina’s Milei says he will move embassy to Jerusalem

Argentinian President Javier Milei landed on Tuesday in Israel, where he announced that he would be moving Argentina’s embassy to Jerusalem.

Milei, who made Israel the destination of his first bilateral visit since he assumed the presidency in December, had pledged to make the move during his election campaign.

There have been no practical steps taken around the move, and there is no Argentinian ambassador in Israel.

Still, an Israeli diplomat told The Times of Israel that “the positive statement is important,” and “we look forward to Argentina opening the sixth embassy in Jerusalem.”

The Hamas terror group blasted Milei’s statement, saying it viewed the move as “an infringement of the rights of our Palestinian people to their land, and a violation of the rules of international law, considering Jerusalem as occupied Palestinian land.”

Currently, the United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Papua New Guinea and Kosovo have embassies in Jerusalem.

Other countries, including Hungary and the Czech Republic, have embassy branches in the capital.

Kazakhstan will surgically remove the genitals of the worst offending paedophiles under a new draft law.

It follows complaints from MPs that the system of chemical castration - one of the toughest in the world - is not deterring child sex offenders.

Elnur Beisenbaev, an MP and executive secretary of the ruling Amanat Party, said the government was 'spineless' and pandering to paedophiles for failing to insist on 'surgical castration'.

Major blow to Albanian drug trafficking network: 59 arrests across Europe

Italian and Albanian authorities have taken decisive action against a major drug trafficking network operating from both countries. With the support of Eurojust and Europol in a large-scale operation, 59 suspects were arrested on 5-6 February, including in Albania, Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom, and 10 suspects were subjected to other precautionary measures in Italy. The network mainly smuggled heroin, cocaine, hashish and marijuana into Germany and Spain using cars with double bottoms or secret compartments.

Last year, 21 suspects were arrested in a first operation against the same Albanian-led organised crime group (OCG). That operation also led to the seizure of drugs worth an estimated EUR 2.7 million.

Initial investigations against the OCG were launched in 2019 by the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) of Florence – District Antimafia Directorate. From January 2020, the Italian and Albanian authorities of the Special Anti-Corruption Structure (SPAK) in Tirana contacted Eurojust to coordinate cross-border judicial cooperation against this complex network. It operated from both Albania and Italy, transporting drugs by car to Spain and Germany, while other suspects were based in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Judicial cooperation with Albania is facilitated by Eurojust, as it is one of the 11 countries outside the EU that has a Liaison Prosecutor at the Agency. At request of the Italian and Albanian authorities, Eurojust supported the creation of dedicated joint investigation teams between the PPO of Florence and SPAK and provided financial, logistic and operational support.

The Agency organised coordination meetings to prepare for today’s major action. It also set up a coordination centre to enable judicial cooperation with all national authorities involved during the action day.

Europol has been supporting the case since 2020. Its experts provided extensive analytical support and expertise on Albanian organised crime, enabling the identification of key targets and the mapping of their criminal activities across Europe. Two Europol officers were deployed on the ground in Albania and Italy during the action day to support the national authorities in their investigative measures.

"Here's why we're doing it. First, because it's our job. We're in journalism. Our duty is to inform people. Two years into a war that's reshaping the entire world, most Americans are not informed. They have no real idea what's happening in this region, here in Russia or 600 miles away in Ukraine. But they should know, they're paying for much of it in ways they might not fully yet perceive. The war in Ukraine is a human disaster. It's left hundreds of thousands of people dead. An entire generation of young Ukrainians. And has depopulated the largest country in Europe. But the long-term effects are even more profound."

Carlson notes that the Ukraine was has "utterly reshaped the global military and trade alliances" and "upended the world economy."

He also hits on the dire state of the Post-WWII (Bretton Woods) economic order, noting that it's "coming apart very fast," along with "the dominance of the US dollar."

The failures of corporate media

Carlson notes that Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky has been the beneficiary of softball, curated, Western interviews which he calls "prep sessions."

"That is not journalism. It is government propaganda," said Carlson.

"At the same time, our politicians and media outlets have been doing this, promoting a foreign leader like he's a new consumer brand, not a single Western journalist has bothered to interview the president of the other country involved in this conflict, Vladimir Putin. Most Americans have no idea why Putin invaded Ukraine, or what his goals are now. They've never heard his voice. That's wrong. Americans have a right to know all they can about a war they're implicated in, and we have the right to tell them about it because we are Americans, too."

Tucker previously relayed a story about trying to set up a Putin interview, until a Washington, DC source briefed him about how the NSA spied on him:

"The NSA broke into my signal account, which I didn't know they could do," he previously said.

'"I got a call from somebody in Washington. This person said: 'Are you gonna come to Washington anytime soon?' Yeah. Actually, I'm gonna be up in a week, meet me Sunday morning."

"So I go, and this person's like: 'Are you planning a trip to go see Putin?' And I was like, 'how would you know that?' I haven't told anybody. I mean anybody. Not my brother. Not my wife, nobody."

"How would you know that? 'Because NSA pulled your text with this other person you were texting.'"

Carlson says he's doing the interview "Because we love the United States. And we want it to remain prosperous and free."
