Big things coming from our neck of the woods, Anon.
Great to meet you!
I grew up in Natick and used to play with all the Flutie kids (Doug, his older brother Bill, his older sister Denise, and his younger brother Darren) in a big gang of playful, harmless, athletic Natick kids that was such a good group of kids that they even let nerds like me play football with them.
We spent our summers at Dug Pond, and our weekends at all the high school games, after which we got Fribbles at Friendly's or ice cream cones and seafood at Wallace's on Rte. 135.
All our parents went to the same church (St. Patrick's) and socialized at night (card games), and life was just a lot of fun back then.
Life was simpler then because we were lulled into a complacency through illusions that that we didn't unmask until relatively recently.
I vividly recall the days when I used to take off on my bike on a Sunday afternoon, at around age 11.
I'd get home to Natick at about 5:00 p.m. and my father (law enforcement dude) would say, "where the HELL were you all day?"
Sometimes the answer was, "um, Sudbury."
My father had a cow over a kid taking off to ride his bike all the way to Sudbury and back without telling anyone.
So seeing you as a Sudbury Anon cracked me up and brought back the days of my bike rides down Route 27, back before traffic was too bad.
Lotsa good stuff happening here.
Mass is a shithole right now, but not for long.
I do believe another shot to be heard around the world is on its way.
Thanks for letting me go down memory lane with you, fren.
Keep up the great work, God bless you, and may God bless your work, and all of your loved ones.
Amen.
