DEVELOPING STORY..

 

At 1 a.m., the Sheriff's Department was alerted about a vessel that had not arrived as scheduled at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, last seen near Pine Valley, a mountainous area approximately 35 miles east of San Diego's city center, according to Lt. Matthew Carpenter.

 

The CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter, on its flight path from Creech Air Force Base in Nevada to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in the San Diego region, was declared "reported overdue" on a Tuesday evening.
