Ronna McDaniel Denies Reports She’s Agreed to Step Down as RNC Chairwoman in Desperate Email to Members

Ronna McDaniel on Wednesday denied reports she has agreed to step down as Chairwoman of the Republican National Committee (RNC).

According to The New York Times, Ronna McDaniel is set to resign from her position following the February 24th South Carolina GOP primary.

The NY Times report came after Trump met with Ronna McDaniel at Mar-a-Lago following his prediction of forthcoming “changes” within the RNC.

Following the meeting, Trump has announced plans to offer recommendations for the party’s growth after the upcoming South Carolina GOP primary.

Trump posted a cryptic message about Ronna McDaniel to Truth Social earlier this week.

“Things are looking great in the Presidential Race of 2024 against Crooked Joe Biden. We have Leads, in many cases substantial, in virtually every Head-to-Head Poll. The Primary seems to be over, but I’ll be going to South Carolina next week to finish off a very unpopular Candidate. On Thursday, I’m heading to Nevada for the Nevada Caucus, where there are 26 Delegates – Hopefully, we’ll get most of them. In my successful run in 2016, the State of Michigan really came through – First time in Decades that it was won by a Republican, and it was headed up by my friend Ronna McDaniel. Ronna is now Head of the RNC, and I’ll be making a decision the day after the South Carolina Primary as to my recommendations for RNC Growth.”

“With a news cycle full of palace intrigue and speculation surrounding all of us, I want to take the time to reassure all of you that I am still hard at work as RNC Chairwoman and building a machine that will elect Republicans up and down the ballot in November,” McDaniel wrote.

She continued, “Myself and my staff are refusing to be distracted by the outside noise and we remain committed to our mission – rumors to the contrary are simply not true. Nothing has changed and there will not be any changes decided on until after south Carolina, when we may have our eventual nominee.”

“An inside source tells me this is the RNC’s attempt to slow things down because they’ve lost control of the process, ie who replaces Ronna, who will be co-chair, etc,” TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk said on X.

Jes Staley Lied About Cutting Off Epstein: Court Filing

Former Barclays CEO and 'Disney princess' aficionado Jes Staley lied about cutting off communication with now-deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, and instead used an intermediary 'for years,' according to new legal filings seen by Bloomberg.

The filings contradict what Staley told the Barclays board about the pair's relationship, along with a US regulatory probe that found no evidence of contact after October 2015.

The documents, filed in the now-concluded US Virgin Islands lawsuit against Staley's former employer, JPMorgan Chase, the go-between - whose identity is redacted - "acted as an intermediary for messages between Staley and Epstein" for several years after joining Barclays.

Epstein emailed the go-between in November 2016 and February 2017 with questions for Staley. Epstein’s messages were passed on to Staley verbally, before the intermediary passed on his reply, according to the documents submitted by JPMorgan as part of a court filing. The bank, which through Staley served Epstein as a client, settled the case last year for $75 million.

In the first partially redacted email — sent about a year after Staley joined Barclays — Epstein wrote to the intermediary in an apparent attempt to discuss the appointment of the Treasury Secretary in Donald Trump’s incoming administration. -Bloomberg

"Could you ask [REDACTED] if he would like to considered for treasury [sic]," Epstein wrote the go-between on Nov. 27, 2016 - weeks after Trump's surprise win over Hillary Clinton.

"Will do. He’s on a plane to London right now but I’ll reach him after," was Staley's reply.

The intermediary later added: "Spoke with him. He said not yet, but thanks."

Then in Feb. 2017, Epstein once again emailed the intermediary in order to get an opinion on Staley's former JPMorgan colleague.

"Can you ask [REDACTED] his opinion of Véronique Weill she wants to join rothschild [sic]," wrote the pedophile.

"Will do. I will speak with him today and get back to you," the go-between replied.

"Thx," Epstein replied.

Later that day, the intermediary wrote to Epstein: "He thinks she is great and is a big fan of hers. Good recommendation for rothschild [sic]."

The documents are a clear indication that Epstein and Staley's relationship continued on for much longer than previously known - as years of direct emails and phone calls suddenly transitioned to the use of said intermediary.

When asked in a New York deposition last June in a separate case, Staley insisted that he had last spoken with Epstein in October or November of 2015.

"Being CEO of a major British bank is a very, very visible job, and I thought it was not appropriate to deal at all with Epstein in that role," said Staley, claiming that he had come to realize that Epstein had a "very, very terrible past."

California Law Requiring Background Check To Buy Ammunition Restored By 9th Circuit

A California law requiring people undergo a background check to purchase ammunition can be in effect while a legal challenge to the law is considered by the courts, federal judges ruled on Feb. 5.

A divided panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit stayed an injunction against the law that was entered days earlier by U.S. District Judge Roger Benitez, who ruled the law clashed with the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment.

The two judges on the appeals court who stayed the injunction, U.S. Circuit Judges Richard Clifton and Holly Thomas, did not explain their decision, which remains in effect for now as the case moves forward, beyond referring to a previous ruling in a separate case.

That ruling, in Nken v. Holder, went over the standard for entering a stay pending appeal.

U.S. Circuit Judge Consuelo Callahan, the third member of the panel, dissented.

“I would deny the motion for a stay pending appeal,” she said. “I do not believe appellant has met his burden of showing a likelihood of success on the merits or that irreparable injury will occur absent a stay.”

Judges Benitez, Clifton, and Callahan were appointed by President George W. Bush. Judge Thomas was appointed by President Biden.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta, a Democrat who asked for the appeals court to stay the injunction, cheered the decision.

“California’s life-saving ammunition laws will remain in effect as we continue to defend them in court,” Mr. Bonta said in a statement. “We will never stop fighting to protect Californians from the scourge of gun violence.”

The law was challenged by a group including Kim Rhode, an Olympic gold medal winner, and the California Rifle & Pistol Association.

Chuck Michel, president and general counsel for the association, said in a statement said it will seek further review by a different panel of the court and “restore the people’s right to buy the ammunition they need for sport or to defend their families.”

Top US general was secretly involved in Yemen war – WaPo

Jim ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis advised the UAE government after retiring from the Marines

Retired US Marine General James Mattis was hired in 2015 to advise the United Arab Emirates about the Saudi-led campaign in Yemen, the Washington Post reported on Wednesday. Mattis did not publicly disclose the gig when he became secretary of defense in 2017.

The Post looked into Mattis as part of an investigation into the Gulf state hiring retired US military officers and obtained previously undisclosed documents through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi at the time, had struck up a friendship with Mattis in 2011, when the Marine general was head of the US Central Command. When Saudi Arabia launched its campaign against the Houthis in Yemen, Mohamed reached out to Mattis, who had recently retired from the US military.

In June 2015, Mattis applied for permission from the State Department and the Marines to advise the UAE on “the operational, tactical, informational and ethical aspects” of the campaign against Yemen.

“I will be compensated,” he wrote by hand on the form submitted to the US Marine Corps on June 4, 2015, with the amount to be determined after US government approval.

Robert Tyrer, a senior executive at the Cohen Group – which currently employs Mattis – told the Post that Mattis never accepted money from foreign governments, except the standard travel expenses. According to Tyrer, Mattis put in the compensation claim so his paperwork would receive “the most rigorous level of review.”

Documents reviewed by the Post show that his application was approved by the USMC after just 15 days, while the State Department gave its blessing on August 5. The process that usually takes “several months, and sometimes years,” lasted just two months, the outlet said. By contrast, the US government took two and a half years to disclose the general’s paperwork to the Post.

In 2017, when Mattis was nominated by then-President Donald Trump to head the Pentagon, he did not publicly reveal his UAE consulting job in his work history and financial disclosure forms. He did not mention it in his 2019 memoir, either. Several Democrats on the Senate Armed Services Committee told the Post they did not recall the disclosure coming up during his confirmation hearings, though a committee staffer said it was included in a confidential memo.

In his application, Mattis said he wanted to “bring American military experience in warfighting and campaigning to bear in terms of strengthening UAE’s efforts.” The Saudi-led coalition spent almost eight years trying to beat the Houthis – with intelligence and aerial refueling support from the US – before admitting defeat and suing for peace.

The Yemeni group is currently barring passage through the Bab-el-Mandeb Straits to any commercial ships linked to Israel, the US or the UK, in protest over the Israeli offensive in Gaza.

Texas AG Paxton says Pfizer lied about efficacy of COVID vaccine, says it's less than 10%

Last year, Pfizer announced a lawsuit against Pfizer, claiming that the company misrepresented the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine to its consumers.

Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton argued on Wednesday that pharmaceutical company Pfizer lied about the efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine and the effectiveness could be lower than 10%.

"They claimed that it was 95% effective," Paxton said. "They never tested it, because Congress gave them immunity from liability, so they have no incentive to test it. They tested it for a couple of days, but they didn't really know and they went and tested it live with us. Then when they started realizing that the results were not 95%, they were less than 10%, maybe as low as one percent, they started censoring people."

Last year, Paxton announced a lawsuit against Pfizer, claiming that the company misrepresented the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine to its consumers.

"Pfizer did not tell the truth about their COVID-19 vaccines. Whereas the Biden Administration weaponized the pandemic to force illegal public health decrees on the public and enrich pharmaceutical companies, I will use every tool I have to protect our citizens who were misled and harmed by Pfizer’s actions," a press release from Paxton's office reads.

Paxton added during the "Just the News, No Noise" interview that the government also censored people over this information and he would continue to fight those efforts.

Clinton Judge Lewis Kaplan Rejects Trump’s Motion For Mistrial in E. Jean Carroll Case Even Though She Deleted Evidence Under Subpoena

Clinton-appointed Judge Lewis Kaplan on Wednesday denied Trump’s motion for a mistrial in E. Jean Carroll’s defamation case even though Carroll deleted evidence under subpoena.

Last month a 9-person jury ordered Trump to pay a total of $83.3 million to E. Jean Carroll for statements he made defending himself against false rape accusations.

The Trump team argued that the evidence Carroll deleted proves that she was receiving threats before President Trump ever commented on her allegations.

Judge Kaplan defended Carroll and said Trump offered no evidence that he ever attempted to recover the deleted messages.

“Mr. Trump has offered no evidence that he ever even attempted to recover any of these messages through discovery or otherwise,” Kaplan said, according to NBC News. “In fact, he does not even argue that the messages in question have been permanently lost and are now unrecoverable. This failure alone was sufficient basis to deny the alternative relief he sought.”

Kaplan also said that even if Trump’s claims about E. Jean Carroll’s deleted messages are accurate, it’s still not sufficient to warrant relief.

“Even if it is accurate, it is far from sufficient to warrant relief,” Kaplan said in the 30-page decision on Wednesday.

President Trump appeared in court last month as E. Jean Carroll testified in a trial where the jury will decide how much Trump has to pay for his so-called ‘defamatory’ statements about her.

Judge Lewis Kaplan, a Clinton appointee, previously ruled that Trump is liable for defamatory statements he made about E. Jean Carroll after she accused him of rape.

In 2019, E. Jean Carroll alleged Donald Trump raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990s.

Trump has denied the allegations and called E. Jean Carroll a “whack job” who’s “not my type.”

Under cross-examination by Trump’s lawyer Alina Habba, E. Jean Carroll admitted she deleted emails under subpoena.

Judge Kaplan ran interference for Carroll.
