Joe Biden Blames Donald Trump and ‘MAGA Republicans’ for Broken Border System

President Joe Biden blamed former President Donald Trump and “MAGA Republicans” for the broken border system and his administration’s expected failure to convince Congress to pass a $118 billion bill that would allot $20 billion for border security but $60 billion for Ukraine.

“Now, all indications are this bill won’t even move forward to the Senate floor. Why? A simple reason: Donald Trump,” Biden said during a public address on Tuesday.

He claimed that Trump thinks the bill is “bad for him politically,” and, therefore, it is being opposed by Republicans in the House and Senate.

He also put all the blame on Trump for the record levels of illegal immigrants streaming through the border, not his own policies and lack of enforcement of the law.

Every day between now and November, the American people are going to know that the only reason the border is not secure is Donald Trump and his MAGA Republican friends,” he said. “It’s time for Republicans in Congress to show courage, to show spine, to make it clear to the American people that you work for them, not for anyone else. I know who I work for — I work for the American people,” he claimed.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) plans to bring the Senate border bill to the floor on Wednesday, but Republicans are poised to block it.

The bill would give the administration the ability to expel illegal immigrants, but only if an average threshold of border crossers is reached.

Russia bombs New York in Donbass (VIDEO)

The airstrike targeted a Ukrainian drone based close to the frontline, several Telegram channels said

Russian Aerospace Forces have bombed New York, a village in the portion of the Donetsk People’s Republic under Ukrainian control, several Telegram channels tracking the conflict reported on Wednesday. The Russian Defense Ministry has neither confirmed nor denied the strike.

New York on the front line, west of Gorlovka and north of the city of Donetsk, roughly between the flashpoints of Artyomovsk (known in Ukraine as Bakhmut) and Avdeevka.

The 132nd Gorlovka Brigade reportedly tracked one of the Ukrainian ‘Baba Yaga’ bomber drones to an outpost near the hamlet, at which point they called in an airstrike.Russian bombers then hit the facility with heavy glide bombs.

A video that made rounds on social media on Wednesday afternoon showed the initial blast followed by a shockwave and a secondary explosion, suggesting that the base was not just a command post but an ammunition warehouse as well.

Over the past year, the Russian Aerospace Forces haveused glide modification kits to extend the range of FAB gravity bombs, enabling their use against Ukrainian ground forces without putting pilots at risk of air defenses.

Wednesday’s strike came amid heavy bombardment of the remaining Ukrainian positions in Avdeevka, south of New York, as Russian forces continued to advance in the city.

Founded in 1859 by a group of Mennonite Protestants from Germany, the hamlet was named New York. It was renamed Novgorodskoe (New City) during the Soviet times, but Ukrainian authorities restored the old name in mid-2021.

During the summer of 2014, it was briefly under the control of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), which had declared independence from Ukraine following the US-backed coup in Kiev. The republic eventually joined Russia following a referendum in September 2022.

US drone strike kills Iraq-based militia leaders

A senior Kataib Hezbollah leader was reportedly among the dead

The US carried out a drone strike in the Iraqi capital on Wednesday evening that killed three members of the Kataib Hezbollah militia, including a senior commander. Washington’s Central Command (CENTCOM) has taken responsibility for the attack.

A car in which the trio was traveling was struck in the Mashtalneighborhood of Baghdad, at around 9:30pm local time. Local outlet Sabereen News described the attack as “American aggression.”

Photos circulating on social media showed the remnants of what seems to have been a Hellfire missile, commonly used by US attack drones.

Two of the dead have since beenidentified as Haj Arkhan Al-Alawi and Wissam Mohammed ‘Abu Bakr’ al-Saadi, who was in charge of Kataib Hezbollah’s operations in Syria.

In a statement posted on X, (formetly Twitter), CENTCOM said it had carried out“a unilateral strike in Iraq in response to the attacks on US service members, killing a Kataib Hezbollah commander responsible for directly planning and participating in attacks on US forces in the region.”

The US has blamed Kataib Hezbollah for last month’s attack that killed three US soldiers at a base on the Syria-Jordan-Iraq border. Following a series of retaliatory US airstrikes,the group announced it would “suspend” attacks.

Local media in Baghdad have reported that crowds of protesters gathered at the strike site chanting slogans branding the US “Greater Satan.”

Al-Saadi is the most senior Kataib Hezbollah memberto have been killed in Iraq since the January 2020 drone strike that killed Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Iranian General Qassem Soleimani. Tehran had responded to that assassination by bombarding US bases with ballistic missiles.

Shia militias have attacked US bases in the region with rockets and drones at least 150 times since last October, following Israel’s declaration of war on Hamas in the aftermath of the militant group’s deadly raids from Gaza.

The White House has blamed Tehran for the attacks, but has stopped short of attacking Iran as some members of Congress have demanded. The US has continued to station troops in Iraq even after the government in Baghdad explicitly requested them to leave. The Pentagon’s presence in Syria is illegal under international law.

We have been noting this for some time. On October 4, 2021, Brookings & Eisen published a report titled Fulton County, Georgia’s Trump Investigation - An Analysis of the Reported Facts and Applicable Law. In November 2022, Brookings & Eisen published an updated second edition of the earlier report.

At 304 pages, this report was three times the length of the original report - and itcontained a detailed listing, evaluation and discussion of all the crimes that Eisen “believed” Trump had committed. The report outlined legal rebuttals to any defenses Trump might raise. It even addressed Trump’s potential claim that he honestly believed he had won the election. Eisen also has long-standing ties to CREW and three of Eisen’s co-authors are directly employed by CREW.

Two others are employed by Brookings.Both entities also provided outside funding and staff support to the report. One other notable funder was also involved - theOpen Society Foundation- George Soros’s funding vehicle. The Eisen report lists seven pages of “key people” - including all those indicted by Fulton County DA Fani Willis. The information provided by Eisen is so detailed and expansive that it appears Willis could have cut and paste Eisen’s work into her indictments. At a bare minimum, it’s clear that Willis had her hand held by outside lawyers than her throughout the entire process.
