Governor Abbott: We are dealing with the biggest border crisis since America had borders, and it's all because Joe Biden allowed this entire area to be penetrated by the drug cartels that smuggled in illegal immigrants.

Governor Abbott: If you look at this massive park area, this is an area where you would regularly see two thousand, three thousand, maybe four thousand people crossing the border illegally. Since this park has been taken over by the National Guard, the daily average is under ten a day…we are working with the Texas National Guard on strategies to both add and accommodate more National Guard in this area. We will also work with the National Guard to continue their strategies of adding more miles of razor wire and anti-climb barrier.

Governor Abbott: I have provided eight letters to [Biden] and his administration, asking for certain actions. I've received exactly zero response. One of those letters, I handed to him personally, to his hand. It was a single page. It was not complicated, and it explained exactly what needed to be done to secure the border. At that same meeting, I handed the exact same letter to Secretary Mayorkas, who said that he would work with us, but of course he has not.

Governor Abbott: We are working on expansion plans, to expand the successful operations that we've seen in certain locations, that deter illegal immigration…the National Guard is relentless. On a daily basis, they're adding more razor wire barrier, more anti-climb barrier, more other ways to repel from trying to enter illegally…there's actually been a dramatic reduction in drownings in the river by more than fifty percent.

Governor Abbott: DPS is arresting dangerous gang members all the time. Including; they arrested a MS-13 gang member who was on the Terrorist Watch List.
