whelp, there is a certain country, in a certain place in the middle east, whose whole claim to displacing (and potentially genociding) the inhabitants of that place is rooted in ancient history.
so, if ancient history is irrelevant to post-WWII mapmaking for Russia, the why is it relevant to post-WWII Palesting?
