The whole key to the federal reserve con game is the interest they charge. If you do nothing else but take away their power to charge interest, you could severely limit their ability to fuck us over. Why is our national debt so high? Take a guess? it's because the fed is the 'issuing' agency, and they charge us interest for every dollar they cause to be printed. So instead of only incurring the cost of minting silver, those printed dollars have IMMEDIATE debt placed on them.
If I am the one supplying your country with money and charge you interest for every dollar I cause to come into being, you will never pay it back. Let's say you come to me and want $1000 printed, I charge you 10% interest on what I make. You now owe me $1100 but I only printed $1000, so where am I gonna get the next $100 I owe? Oh, you have to come back to me to print some more, in which case I am going to charge you interest again. We will NEVER catch up as long as we have to keep coming back to the same assholes who print our money and have been robbing us for decades.
Go back hard specie. The limited availability of the silver/gold helps keep prices somewhat more stable. The reason the founding fathers went the hard specie route was because they wanted to try and keep the wealth of the country in the hands of it's citizens.
