An Ethical Tradition Betrayed

I am pained by the parallels I observe between my experiences in Germany prior to 1939 and those suffered by Palestinians today. I cannot help but hear echoes of the Nazi mythos of "blood and soil" in the rhetoric of settler fundamentalism.

I realized there that anybody from a dominating group who tries to dehumanize people from a minority group, can only do so if by education, indoctrination and propaganda he has already been dehumanized himself, independent of the uniform he wears. It is a deep tragedy that in Israel this is not what one concludes from the experiences in Auschwitz. To the contrary, Auschwitz is elevated there into a new religion.

What kind of creature celebrates their birthday next to a person they tortured?? If this settler is off duty one day and was killed by the Palestinian resistance in some party they will call him an โ€œinnocent civilianโ€. They are sick.

>CLOBBER

Robert Bruce Banner's psyche was profoundly affected by his troubled childhood, in which his father, Brian Banner, regarded him as a monster due to his seemingly unnatural intellect from a young age. These experiences caused Bruce to develop a dissociative identity disorder and repress his negative emotions as a coping mechanism. After Brian killed Bruce's mother in a fit of rage, Bruce lived with several relatives up until his high school years, when his intelligence caught the attention of the United States Army. Banner was recruited to develop nuclear weapons under the authority of General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, and soon developed a relationship with the General's daughter Betty Ross.

>Trump lawyers say document shows he kept โ€˜Qโ€™ clearance for nuclear secrets

Among the more specific possible defenses: Lawyers for Trump say he had an active security clearance years after leaving the White House, based on a government document from June 2023 that still listed him with a โ€œQโ€ clearance from the Department of Energy. The document was dated a few weeks after prosecutors indicted Trump in the case. He faces 40 counts related to willful retention of national defense information; obstruction, withholding or altering of documents; and making false statements, and has pleaded not guilty.

Trump attorney Todd Blanche first publicly referred to the "Q" clearance at a November court hearing in Florida, saying he had learned Trump โ€œcontinued to have an active clearanceโ€ when prosecutors turned over the Department of Energy documentation as part of what is known as Brady material โ€” evidence that prosecutors must share with defense lawyers that could be helpful to the defense.

In the latest filing, Trumpโ€™s attorneys suggested they still do not know the entirety of what the Department of Energy filing entails and asked the judge to force prosecutors to provide more information about the โ€œQโ€ clearance. The term refers to a type of security clearance handled by the agency, whose classified information focuses largely on nuclear secrets. It became popular in right-wing conspiracy circles because of the movement known as QAnon, which originated during Trumpโ€™s presidency and centers on made-up claims circulated by a person known as โ€œQโ€, who supporters claimed had that level of clearance.

So why would Trump be on a โ€œQโ€-level security clearance list even after he left the White House?
