Fox knows their audience and was playing to them. If they weren't doing that, they wouldn't be a good entertainment venue. What Fox and most Floridians seem to keep forgetting is that many Floridian geriatrics are leaving the state, not staying. Florida doesn't care, though, because Miami is a major port of entry, A, and B, it's sliding towards Trump anyway. I would expect to see lots of businesses moving there just for the notoriety of being home to the 5th US President on Rushmore.
It's not hard to leave northeastern states for sunny Florida, like some did during COVID. It's hard as fuck to stay in Florida when the glitz of swingers paradise in The Villages wears off after contracting syphilis in your 70s, and you realize you're surrounded by swamps, gators, and immigrants that hate you. Not to mention those seasonal Disney visitors that jam up the interstate, and insurance costs that are so high you need a third mortgage to pay for it.
