Israel behind Iranian pipeline blasts – Tehran

The sabotage was aimed at disrupting the natural gas supply, Iran’s oil minister says

The explosions at two Iranian gas pipelines last week were an Israeli plot, the Islamic republic’s oil minister, Javad Owji, has said.

According to Iranian officials, the twin blasts occurred in the country’s central Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, and the southern Fars province. The authorities described the incidents at the time as sabotage.

The “explosion of the gas pipeline was an Israeli plot,” Owji said on Wednesday, as quoted by the Washington Post. “The enemy intended to disturb gas service in the provinces and put people’s gas distribution at risk.”

Israel did not comment on the allegations. The Jewish state rarely acknowledges its operations abroad and has accused Iran of using Hamas and other militant Islamist groups in the region to stage attacks against it.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told reporters last month that Israel was “attacking” the Islamic republic, as well as its “proxies.”

Tehran has denied that it was behind the deadly Hamas incursion into Israel on October 7, which left some 1,200 people dead and kick-started Israel’s ongoing operation in the Gaza Strip. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, however, endorsed the raid into Israel as “legitimate defense of the Palestinian nation,” and promised to continue the support for the Palestinian cause.

Iran Sends Russia Hundreds Of Ballistic Missiles, Washington Powerless

Back in early 2022 just weeks into the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Western officials began raising suspicions that the Islamic Republic of Iran was supplying arms, and especially kamikaze drones, to Moscow for use on the Ukrainian battlefield. This proved true, and allegations of Tehran supplying ballistic missiles soon followed.

Now, just days away from the grim two-year mark of the start of the major war, there are fresh reports of a dramatic escalation in Iran's military supply pipeline to Russia. Reuters reports Wednesday that Tehran has provided Moscow with a "large number of powerful surface-to-surface ballistic missiles."

The report alleged an estimated 400 missiles, mostly from the Fateh-110 family of short-range ballistic weapons, have been provided. These are mobile-launched and have a range of up to 435 miles.

"The shipments began in early January after a deal was finalized in meetings late last year between Iranian and Russian military and security officials that took place in Tehran and Moscow, one of the Iranian sources say," according the report.

“There will be more shipments,” one Iranian official has boasted. "There is no reason to hide it. We are allowed to export weapons to any country that we wish to."

Starting last fall, the US administration began getting creative on ways it could retaliate against Iran. The Pentagon at that time announced that it was sending seized shipments of illicit Iranian arms (usually intercepted in waters off the Arabian peninsula) to Ukraine's armed forces.

"The US will transfer thousands of seized Iranian weapons and rounds of ammunition to Ukraine, in a move that could help to alleviate some of the critical shortages facing the Ukrainian military as it awaits more money and equipment from the US and its allies," US officials said at the time.

In the below brief analysis, the hawkish think tank The Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) had hailed this Biden policy as one which "turns the tables" on both Tehran and Moscow…

The U.S. transfer of Iranian arms to Ukraine turns the tables on both Tehran and Moscow, which have doubled down on their defense partnership following Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Tehran provides drones to Moscow and helps the Russians localize their production. In March 2023, Iran agreed to purchase 24 advanced Sukhoi Su-35 fighters from Russia, significantly upgrading the capabilities of the Islamic Republic’s air force. In 2019, 2021, 2022, and 2023, Russia and Iran conducted joint naval drills in the Gulf of Oman. Russia and Iran are also sharing intelligence and cooperating in a joint effort to push U.S. military forces out of the region.

In this way there are now Iranian arms on 'both' sides of the Ukraine-Russia conflict. However, hundreds of Iranian ballistic missiles on the Russian side means it won't run low on missiles anytime soon.

The Ukrainian side, meanwhile, is still hurting for more arms and manpower, as it's being beaten back from frontline positions, especially in the east and with the latest loss at Avdiivka.

The treasonous cunt is jumping ship

Redcliffe MP Yvette D'Ath confirms she will not contest 2024 Queensland election - as Labor faces uphill battle to retain government

A senior minister in the Miles government who played a key role in Queensland's pandemic response has announced she will not recontest her seat at October's state election.

One of the Miles government's most senior ministers has announced she will not be contesting her seat at this year's Queensland state election.

Yvette D'Ath confirmed on Thursday she would bow out of state politics this year after a decade in office instead of contesting her seat of Redcliffe again on October 26.

Ms D'Ath is currently the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence, having previously served as health minister for a large chunk of the pandemic.

In a social media post exactly 10 years on from the day she won Redcliffe at a by-election, Ms D'Ath said her decision "has not been made lightly and comes with some sorrow but also excitement about what journey I may embark on next".

She proceeded to reflect on her time in politics, having also served in federal parliament in the seat of Petrie between 2007 and her defeat in 2013 when Labor lost power.

"To be one of the few citizens of this country to have served in both federal and Queensland parliaments, and to have done so as someone who left school at 15, is an honour," Ms D'Ath said.

"My decision to not recontest is based on many considerations, but not least that it is time to try to find more balance in my life, to allow myself to look after me, after what will almost be 17 years of serving the people of Queensland.

"I have spent the past few years in my various roles, speaking to many people across the legal and health professions about well-being and the importance of looking after oneself, so that you may look after others.

"That is what I am finally going to allow myself to do post October 2024."

In her statement, Ms D'Ath also channelled former Victorian premier Daniel Andrews who last September told reporters when announcing his resignation that "there's an old saying in politics, go when they're asking you to stay".
