Shannon Gooden aka Shannon Cortez Gooden (deceased) finally identified as the killer of 3 first responders to a sexual assault report.
BURNSVILLE, Minn. (FOX 9) - … The search warrant filed in Ramsey County … police responded to 12605 33rd Ave. at 1:50 a.m. on Feb. 18, on a report of a sexual assault allegation.
"Officers negotiated for Gooden to surrender, but he did not cooperate," the warrant states.
"Sometime later, Gooden opened fire at officers with what is believed to be multiple different firearms," killing Elmstrand, Ruge and Finseth. Police returned fire at Gooden, who retreated into a bedroom.
Special Weapons and Tactics Officers then responded to the scene, and used a drone to locate Gooden dead in the bedroom. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has since said Gooden died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
There were seven children in the home at the time of the shooting, but they were not hurt. The biological mother of three of the children was Gooden's ex-girlfriend, identified as Noemi Torres.
Torres admitted to investigators that either during or after the shooting, she was in communication with Gooden's girlfriend at the time of the shooting. Gooden's girlfriend told Torres about the incident via text message, the warrant says.
Investigators booked Torres' cell phone into evidence. The goal of taking the phone into evidence is to see communication between Gooden and Torres, with the search warrant stating it could contain information to help investigators understand Gooden's mindset.

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS also obtained a 911 transcript on Wednesday of the first call that came into dispatch from inside the Burnsville home at 1:50 a.m. on Sunday.
In it, the caller asked for police and provided an address. A small section of the remaining, brief conversation was redacted, but it showed that the caller references “my husband,” along with the words “Help me.” The transcript also noted there was screaming. Then, the call was disconnected. Dispatchers called back at least four times, according to the transcript, but could not keep anyone on the line.
Those calls all took place in about a five-minute span.
… The mother of three of Gooden’s kids told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that she feels “all of this could’ve been avoided,” and court records note that two orders for protection had previously been filed against Gooden, alleging that he was physically and emotionally abusive toward his kids’ mothers. However, both were ultimately dismissed.

Authorities Finally Identify Suspect in Murder of Two Police Officers and a Paramedic - He Had a 'Disturbing' Past
… In 2008, he was convicted of second-degree felony assault after pulling a knife during a fight in a mall parking lot. A felony conviction carries an automatic lifetime ban on gun ownership and possession.
Gooden also had two protective orders filed against him following allegations of domestic assault and abuse, KSTP-TV reported.
According to KMSP, the suspect attempted to have his Second Amendment rights restored four years ago, but prosecutors said he “remained a risk to public safety” and a judge denied the petition.
However, Gooden ignored the court’s order, according to police.
