Conservative Party Suspends Lee Anderson MP After Claiming Sadiq Khan Controlled by ‘Islamists’

The Conservative Party has announced that it has suspended former deputy chairman Lee Anderson from the party after he refused to apologise for asserting that London Mayor Sadiq Khan is controlled by “Islamists”.

The Conservative MP for Ashfield and former deputy chairman Lee Anderson had the whip suspended from him on Saturday evening as the Tory Party bowed to pressure from leftist Labour Party London Mayor Sadiq Khan and liberal members of the political and media classes who expressed outrage on his behalf.

Anderson sparked outrage after telling GB News on Friday: “I don’t actually believe that these Islamists have got control of our country, but what I do believe is that they’ve got control of Khan, they’ve got control of London. He’s actually given our capital city away to his mates.”

His comments were in reference to an article written by former Home Secretary Suella Braverman, who was ousted from her role over her critiques of anti-Israel protests in London and her disagreements with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak immigration. Braverman argued that “the Islamists, the extremists and the anti-Semites are in charge” of the UK.

Khan responded to the remarks from Anderson by branding them as “Islamophobic, anti-Muslim and racist” and claiming that they “pour fuel on the fire of anti-Muslim hatred”.

Anderson was also condemned by fellow Conservative MP, Nus Ghani, a practising Muslim, who said: “I don’t for one moment believe that Sadiq Khan is controlled by Islamists… To say so is both foolish and dangerous. Frankly, this is all so tiring.”

Despite the media firestorm surrounding the comments, the MP for Ashfield refused to back down from his comments. It was the refusal to apologise that prompted his suspension from the Conservative Party within the House of Commons.

A spokesman for Tory Chief Whip Simon Hart said per the BBC: “Following his refusal to apologise for comments made yesterday, the Chief Whip has suspended the Conservative whip from Lee Anderson MP.”

Anderson, a former Labour Party councillor who defected to the Tories in 2018 over Labour’s embracing of the far-left, served as the deputy chairman of the Conservative Party until January, when he resigned over, in his view, the government failing to go far enough to stop illegal migration during the Rwanda vote.

Following his suspension, Anderson said per GB News: “Following a call with the Chief Whip, I understand the difficult position that I have put both he and the Prime Minister in with regard to my comments.

“I fully accept that they had no option but to suspend the whip in these circumstances.

“However, I will continue to support the Government’s efforts to call out extremism in all its forms – be that anti-semitism or islamophobia.”

State Dept downplays reports of Israeli soldiers sexually abusing, slaughtering Palestinian women

While falsely claiming to have received “independent confirmation” of since-debunked assertions of mass rape by Hamas, the State Department’s spokesman said he “cannot independently verify” allegations by UN human rights experts that Israeli soldiers have sexually abused and systematically slaughtered Palestinian women and girls in the besieged Gaza Strip.

The US State Department has downplayed the findings of UN human rights experts who received “credible allegations” that Israeli soldiers have raped, tortured, and executed Palestinian women and girls amid their siege of Gaza.

US media has similarly overlooked the UN human rights report, focusing instead on yet another dubious report by the Israeli Association of Rape Crisis Centers alleging the deployment of “systematic sexual violence” by Hamas on October 7, 2023.

As The Grayzone’s Max Blumenthal reported, the Israeli report was “short on new research, absent of hard evidence, and reliant instead on clips from factually-challenged articles by the same Western outlets promoting its publication.” Its publication was funded by US-based Israel lobby heavyweights involved in a public relations scheme to justify the ongoing siege of Gaza.

The UN’s Office of the High Commission on Human Rights reported receiving testimonies from Palestinian women and girls in Israeli custody of rape and being “subjected to multiple forms of sexual assault, such as being stripped naked and searched by male Israeli army officers.”

The Grayzone has also gathered video testimony from 39-year-old Abier Mohammed Gheben, a Palestinian abducted in Gaza by Israelis during their ongoing siege. She described being subjected to torture, deprivation and humiliation during over 50 days in captivity. “We had to sleep for a night… out in the open” while “blinded and handcuffed,” she told The Grayzone, adding that her interrogator “would call women dogs.”

Asked by journalists about the UN report alleging Israeli sexual abuse of Palestinian female detainees, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told journalists that he “cannot independently verify the reports.”

Though he insisted the US “strongly [urges] Israel to thoroughly and transparently investigate credible allegations,” Miller stopped well short of the dramatic denunciations he reserves for Hamas. The State Department flack previously claimed without evidence that Hamas refuses to release female Israeli captives because “they don’t want these women to be able to talk about what happened to them during their time in custody.”

Miller’s latest pronouncement triggered intensive questioning by reporters in the press gallery, who seemed to pick up on the apparent double standard.

“You said you had no independent confirmation of what the UN experts found,” AP journalist Matt Lee noted, “but did you ever have confirmation of what Hamas allegedly did to Israeli women, girls?”

Miller replied that the US had, in fact, received “independent confirmation” of supposed sexual violence against Israelis by Hamas combatants, citing the findings of unspecified “Israeli medical experts.”

Moreover, “it is a well-accepted fact” that Palestinian militants sexually abused Israelis, the spokesman insisted, “because the investigations produced credible evidence that not just the US accepted, but countries around the world accepted.”

“We have no reason at all to doubt those reports,” Miller concluded.

Later in the the exchange, Miller appeared to dismiss the credentials of the UN experts, telling journalists that the US would not treat the allegations of rape by the Israeli military as confirmed until they’re examined by “a credible medical expert.”

“With respect to these new allegations, we want to see an investigation. And we will of course look at the investigation and make our judgments when that investigation has concluded,” Miller stated.

The UN experts’ findings, which are reportedly “based on accounts provided by Palestinian female detainees, as well as information obtained via human rights organizations,” have been almost universally ignored by the Western press. As of publication, less than half a dozen mainstream outlets had reported on the shocking allegations.

Given the US State Department’s role in fast-tracking weapons to Israel, it may have good reason to downplay credible allegations of the mass killing and abuse of Palestinian women in Gaza. While it may not have been accused directly, Foggy Bottom has been a willing accomplice to any and all of Israel’s crimes.

US Intel Has ‘Low Confidence’ in Israeli Claim a Dozen UN Staff Participated in Hamas Attack

The Washington Post claims to have independently verified that a single UNRWA employee took part in the October 7 attack on Israel

The US and several other Western countries cut funding to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) after Israel claimed that several members of the organization participated in the Hamas attack on October 7. The US intelligence community has “low confidence” in the veracity of the Israeli assertions. The Washington Post reports having evidence of a single UNRWA member in Israel.

In January, Tel Aviv began circulating the claim that 12 members of UNRWA attacked Israel on October 7 and that scores of other members have ties to Hamas. The release of the claims was timed with the International Court of Justice ruling that Israel was plausibly committing genocide in Gaza.

Earlier this month, Tel Aviv released a summary of its intelligence for the assertions to several news outlets. After reviewing the Israeli dossier, multiple outlets reported that Israel had provided no evidence to back the claims that members of UNRWA are aligned with Hamas.

Still, Washington and several other top donors to UNRWA backed Tel Aviv’s allegations and cut funding to the agency. Secretary of State Antony Blinken described the claims as “highly, highly credible.”

UNRWA is the most crucial aid organization to deliver aid to Gaza and prevent the famine from getting worse. In Gaza, one in six children is on the verge of starvation.

The government in Tel Aviv maintains significant power and oversight over UNRWA. The organization provides Israel with a list of all employees annually, and Tel Aviv can demand that UNRWA sever ties with any of its staff.

On Wednesday, the Wall Street Journal reported that a US intelligence assessment concluded it had “low confidence” in the Israeli claims. The intel assessment did not dispute all the Israeli claims, “but it provides a more measured appraisal of Israel’s assertions than public statements by US and Israeli officials,” according to the Journal.

Last week, the Washington Post reported obtaining a video that showed one UNRWA social worker in southern Israel on October 7 and who was seen loading the body of an Israeli into a vehicle. The Post reports matching photos from social media of the UNRWA staff member and his vehicle to CCTV footage from southern Israel.

While Washington often accepts all Israeli claims of crimes committed by Palestinians, the White House ignores even well-documented reports of Israeli war crimes in Gaza. Recently, the UN found several credible reports of Israeli forces committing rampant executions and sexual abuse of Palestinian women and girls. The Biden administration has claimed that it must support Israel because of the alleged sexual crimes of Hamas but will not curb weapons shipments to Tel Aviv when Israeli forces are reported committing similar offenses.

BILL GATES PARTNER GAVI VACCINE ALLIANCE TARGETS ONLINE MEMES

An international group promoting vaccines with ties to the Gates Foundation in going after memes. Whatever could make more sense?

But things here aren’t as haphazard as they might seem. Bill Gates is known, and rich, for two things: as the founder of one of the most oppressive (in terms of design, security, and historically predatory toward free-as-in-freedom competing technology) companies ever – Microsoft.

And the other is Gates – now as a billionaire – reinventing himself through his “uncanny valley” philanthropic efforts, centered and emanating from his Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and focusing by and large on all sorts of vaccines, and – agriculture.

One of those involved, the GAVI Vaccine Alliance (that gets money from Gates) now wants to reframe memes – internet’s succinct expression of humor and satire – as “health disinformation super-spreaders.”

And we’ve heard this one before – this genre, that, in the digital age, might as well be considered as any other artistic format in previous times, is said to be capable of evading “fact checkers and content moderators” (i.e., censors).

In previous eras and authoritarian states, that would get the books with imagery and words characteristic of memes banned or burned.

So what could be the solution in the current era? And what does the big picture amount to?

Well, it’s just Bill Gates going after a free and open internet again, only by other means – cynics might say.

But here’s what a blog post on GAVI’s site says: “Our research shows that memes form part of a highly sophisticated strategy to spread and monetize health disinformation.”

(Not throwing the “monetize slur” in there – in the context of “the Gates!” /s)

When the “research” is done – (including assertions such as that memes falsely “depicted unvaccinated people as unfairly stigmatized” – well tell that to tennis superstar Novak Djokovic who almost got his career ruined by actual unfair stigmatization) – come the conclusions:

“Influencers promoting vaccine hesitancy use memes to build their online following, sow distrust of health authorities and profit from the promotion of unapproved medicines. This enables them to evade responsibility for any negative consequences of their messaging.”

There’s a “call to action” too, basically – to formally criminalize memes.

Says GAVI: “Memes may not look threatening – but that’s why they are such effective super spreaders of health disinformation.”

So then, what is GAVI, in its own words?

“As a founding partner of GAVI, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has brought international attention to the cause of immunization and has made several commitments to GAVI, totaling US$ 4.1 billion to date.”

The United Nations announced on Friday that the Israeli army has killed more than 400 people who sought refuge in its facilities in the besieged Gaza Strip since 7 October.

This came in a statement by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) posted on its X account: “One million people are sheltering in or around @UNRWA facilities across the📍#GazaStrip – from newborn babies to the elderly, this has become ‘home’.”

“Devastatingly, now over 400 people have been killed while seeking shelter in these @UN facilities. Nowhere, & no-one, is safe,” it added.

In a previous post, UNRWA stated: “153 different @UNRWA installations have been attacked during the war in #Gaza.”

Israel has repeatedly equated UNRWA staff with Hamas members in efforts to discredit the organisation, providing no proof of the claims, while lobbying hard to have UNRWA closed as it is the only UN agency with a specific mandate to look after the basic needs of Palestinian refugees.

If the agency no longer exists, argues Israel, then the refugee issue must no longer exist, and the legitimate right for Palestinian refugees to return to their land will be unnecessary.

Israel has denied that right of return since the late 1940s, even though its own membership in the UN was made conditional upon Palestinian refugees being allowed to return to their homes and land.

South Carolina Voters Unable to Vote Reportedly Due to Internet Being Out – Voters Told to Put Ballots in “Another Slot”

The Republican Primary is well underway in South Carolina and already there are reports of issues with voting tabulators in at least one precinct in Richland County.

Real America’s Voice Michelle Backus was on the ground in Satchel Ford Elementary in Columbia, SC. She spoke Tony Burkes, a voter in that particular precinct. He said after he filled out his ballot and ran it through the scanner, he received an error message.

Now tell me if this sounds familiar: A poll worker then told the voter that “they didn’t have internet” and that he would have to “fold it and slide it into another slot. It looked kind of like a trash can.”

Richland County, SC uses the ES&S DS200 optical scanners, as well as the ES&S ExpressPoll and ExpressVote systems.

We have been told for quite some time that the tabulators do not connect to the internet. Election officials have claimed that pollbooks must be hooked to the internet in order to ensure voters are credited as voting after the process. According to the man, this occurred after he received a ballot and while he was scanning it in the tabulator.

Starlink terminals used to operate Ukrainian drones were also found, the Defense Ministry has said

Russian troops have captured NATO-made weapons and ammunition, as well as Starlink satellite terminals at the Avdeevka chemical plant, according to a new video released by the Defense Ministry on Saturday.

Officials in Moscow said the abandoned hardware was found by Russian assault groups that entered the Avdeevka Coke and Chemical plant, the largest facility of its kind in Europe, which became the linchpin of Ukraine’s offensives in the area after the conflict erupted in February 2022.

The ministry said that while inspecting the plant’s workshops, Russian assault teams discovered abandoned drone control stations with Starlink terminals, dozens of NATO-made anti-tank grenade launchers, ammunition, hand grenades, automatic weapons, and dry rations.

”All this was left behind by Ukrainian soldiers as they fled the plant in panic under the onslaught of Russian troops,” the statement said.

The video shared by the ministry shows Russian soldiers walking on the premises of the heavily damaged chemical plant. Another clip features one service member examining a box of communications equipment, including a relay station.

The video also shows a crate stuffed with frag shells for a grenade launcher and a metal container filled with 12.7 machine gun rounds with an inscription reading ‘Ministero della Difesa’, an apparent reference to their Italian origin.

Ukraine has been using Starlink internet terminals made by Elon Musk’s SpaceX company since early on in the conflict, both for civilian and military purposes, including to maintain communications between units and to direct drones and artillery fire.

However, in September, Musk sparked anger in Kiev after he refused its request to use Starlink to facilitate a raid on the Russian fleet in the Crimean Peninsula, explaining that he did not want SpaceX to be “complicit in a major act of war and conflict escalation.”

The Russian military captured both Avdeevka and the chemical plant in the northern part of the city last weekend. Moscow said the retreat turned into a disorganized rout, during which more than 1,500 Ukrainian troops were killed.

Avdeevka, which was under Ukrainian control since 2014, was often used by Kiev to shell the city of Donetsk 10km away, resulting in numerous civilian casualties. The Donetsk People’s Republic, along with three other former Ukrainian territories, voted to become part of Russia in 2022.
