ANNOUNCEMENT

Did you ever notice UK Tabloids always use single-quotation marks in their headline but double-quotation marks in the article.

Journalistic standards dictate you are supposed to be consistent throughout.

I always assumed/presumed double-quotation marks were reserved for a quote while single-quotation was reserved as a 'substitute' word, or paraphrasing, correct me I'm wrong or if you thought the same. Apparently not.

HOW MANY EXAMPLES CAN YOU FIND FROM THIS WEEK ALONE

Is this a quote? If not, why, how, are they all writing the same thing? Where did this story originate?

Looks like a PR attempt from TAA's "team".

ALL WRITING THE EXACT SAME THING

ALL MARCHING TO THE SAME BEAT

All writing the exact same thing as eachother.

"independent journalism" wouldn't have a look-in.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but If I get a mortgage on a property, then allow someone else to live there for 10 years without living there myself, after 10 years they are now the "owner of the property".

This is the law (UK). Massive loop-hole injunction.

If I have lived at my family home for over 10 years, am I now the "owner of the property"?

Can I apply for "ownership"?

What if I rent a property, then pay the rent while not living there myself, and allow someone else, after 10 years are they now the "owner of the property"?

You'll say "it's more nuanced than that", but, according to the UK Gov website, it's not nuanced at all. It's pretty straightforward.

They key distinction made is if I "agree" to pay rent, then it's an agreement. If I don't agree then I can become the "owner of the property".

It's really easy to understand. Don't pay, get a property. Do pay, become a slave. It's that simple.
