Again, being humble and repntant are not the same thing. One can be humble and not rempentant.
Pride has been greatly misunderstood and people apply a black and white mentality to it (ever wonder why masons like black and white floors?).
Tell a little kid they did a good job, look at how proud they are. Tell them they look handsome/beautiful, look at them be proud. That's not an illusion or a sin. What's a sin is letting your pride think you're better than others.

Pride is not a sin, letting your pride allow you to believe you're above others is the sin. Looking down on others is the sin. Being proud of a good job is not a sin. A kid proud of themselves is not a sin.
