The limited-edition sauce is inspired by memorable scene from The Godfather
Heinz has launched a limited edition ketchup to celebrate the The Godfather, more than five decades since the cult classic came out.
The sauce giant has teamed up with Paramount to make a Heinz & The Godfather Pasta Sauce inspired by the Hollywood hit to go on sale in the UK.
The limited-edition is inspired directly from a memorable scene from the Francis Ford Coppola film, in which Peter Clemenza (played by Richard S. Castellano) says 'leave the gun, take the cannoli' and teaches Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) how to cook the perfect pasta sauce.
The 490g jar of pasta sauce features the ingredients detailed in the film, and Heinz has broken down exactly how the sauce is made - according to Clemenza's instructions, of course.
It starts with some good sun-ripened tomatoes - grown in Italy - before being placed in a pot with olive oil, garlic, meatballs, sausage and salt and pepper to taste.
Heinz advise to accompany the succulent sauce with freshly cooked pasta in a dish best served hot.

The limited-edition release is part of Kraft Heinz's larger transformation to bring insight-driven innovation to consumers faster than ever before and grow their taste elevation platform around the world.
On the launch, Caio Fontenele, Heinz New Ventures Director, said: 'Paramount Pictures' The Godfather remains one of the greatest films in cinema history.
'And after we watched Clemenza teaching Michael how to make his perfect pasta sauce, alongside seeing a rising trend on social media of people replicating recipes from their favourite films and TV series at home, we knew it had to be Heinz that finally brought this iconic recipe to the nation.'
He added: 'This unexpected yet iconic collaboration is set to unleash excitement and disruption in the pasta sauces category, whether you're a long-time fan of The Godfather or just looking for a new great tasting pasta dish.'
