Reporter: Did [Biden] take a mental fitness or a cognitive test during his physical this morning?

Jean-Pierre: [Biden[ doesn't need a cognitive test. That is not my assessment. That is the assessment of [Biden's] doctor. That is also the assessment of the neurologist, who has also made that assessment as well…[Biden] passes a cognitive test every day. Every day, as he moves from one topic to another topic, understanding the granular level of these topics.

Reporter: Why go [Biden] to Brownsville, Texas, specifically…it's one of the slower sectors, in the month of February they averaged seventeen illegal crossings a day…the number one sector has had more than fourteen thousand in the same time period. This administration has often criticized republicans when they go to the border and hold similar press conferences, saying they are doing publicity stunts and photo ops. How is this any different?

Jean-Pierre: Oh, it's very different., What House Republicans have done is nothing. Absolutely nothing, If anything, they consistently get in the way. They consistently get in the way of what [Biden] is trying to do to get more resources. They are turning this into a political stunt by listening to Donald Trump and saying they need to kill it [border bill].

Reporter: [Biden] is not going to actually see the parts of the border where it's actually really bad.

Jean-Pierre: I think you're missing the point. The point is [Biden] actually did the work to get a bi-partisan bill done that deals with an issue that the majority of Americans care about.

Reporter: Has [Biden] spoken to the family of Laken Hope Riley, the young Georgia student who was murdered, allegedly at the hands of an undocumented immigrant?

Jean-Pierre: Given this is an active case, I'm going to be really careful about speaking to that case more specifically.
