The transparency of this timing is almost too clear. A couple of days ago, the Koch network said they were going to drop back to a defensive position and look to retain their influence in the House and Senate. The next day John Thune announced he was endorsing President Trump. Deceptive Conservatives, aka “DeceptiCons,” are always positioned to retain power structures.

John Thune has been groomed to replace Mitch McConnell for years. You might remember when Thune contemplated retiring a few years ago, and the professional donors convinced him to stay on “just in case” Trump returned to DC.

Thune’s recent endorsement of Trump is like Brutus welcoming Caesar back to Rome, the intents are analogous. McConnell will exit Senate leadership after the November election, Thune will rise, and the anti-Trump antagonisms will continue. Senators Barrasso and Cornyn will be positioned to participate in the process.

Removing the stench of McConnell and his DeceptiCon crew from the Senate means much more than just removing Mitch McConnell from leadership. The apparatus of the Senate needs to be purged with solid primary contests to take down the power structure. Purge the crew, then salt the entire upper chamber, then bring in an exorcist and fill every room with sage smoke for a week…. or something.

Don’t fall for the trickery…. McConnell isn’t stepping down because it’s in Trump’s best interests. McConnell is stepping down as part of a strategy to oppose the America First agenda that Trump represents.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Mitch McConnell, the longest-serving Senate leader in history who maintained his power in the face of dramatic convulsions in the Republican Party for almost two decades, will step down from that position in November.

McConnell, who turned 82 last week, announced his decision Wednesday in the well of the Senate.

McConnell said he plans to serve out his Senate term, which ends in January 2027, “albeit from a different seat in the chamber.”

He spoke at times haltingly, his emotions evident, as he looked back on his career. Dozens of members of his staff lined up behind him on the back wall of the chamber, some wiping away tears, as family and friends looked down from the gallery above. Senators from both parties — most of them taken by surprise by the announcement — trickled into the chamber and exchanged hugs and handshakes.

President Joe Biden, who has had a productive working relationship with McConnell, said he was sorry to hear the news.

“I’ve trusted him and we have a great relationship,” Biden said. “We fight like hell. But he has never, never, never misrepresented anything.”

Aides said McConnell’s announcement was unrelated to his health. The Kentucky senator had a concussion from a fall last year and two public episodes where his face briefly froze while he was speaking.

“As I have been thinking about when I would deliver some news to the Senate, I always imagined a moment when I had total clarity and peace about the sunset of my work,” McConnell said. “A moment when I am certain I have helped preserve the ideals I so strongly believe. It arrived today.”

The senator had been under increasing pressure from the restive, and at times hostile wing of his party that has aligned firmly with Trump. The two have been estranged since December 2020, when McConnell refused to abide Trump’s lie that the election of Democrat Joe Biden as president was the product of fraud.

But while McConnell’s critics within the GOP conference had grown louder, their numbers had not grown appreciably larger, a marker of McConnell’s strategic and tactical skill and his ability to understand the needs of his fellow Republican senators.

McConnell gave no specific reason for the timing of his decision, which he has been contemplating for months, but he cited the recent death of his wife’s youngest sister as a moment that prompted introspection. “The end of my contributions are closer than I’d prefer,” McConnell said.

Within that club rule #1 dominates: none of the members will ever expose another member. So, when there is corrupt activity within the Senate, no one from within the institution will expose another. This is the code of Omerta within the upper chamber. This is the way of the “my good friend” Senate and how it operates.

Current Senate Leader Mitch McConnell has a leadership group who carry out the institutional objectives of the upper chamber as a body. They include: Senator John Thune (whip), Senator John Barrasso (conference chair), Roy Blunt (committee chair), Todd Young (NRSC chair), Jodi Ernst (conference vice-chair), and Chuck Grassley (president pro tempore). None of these senators make a move publicly without approval from Leader McConnell.

In August of 2020, before the presidential election, Senate Whip John Thune rebuked the mail-in ballot concerns expressed by President Trump. Thune did this because ultimately the objectives of the upper chamber were more favorably aligned if President Trump was removed.

Both sides compete, and it’s always an area where I think our side, at least in my experience, has done pretty well,” Thune answered, adding: “I think we want to assure people it’s going to work, it’s secure and if they vote that way it’s going to count.” (read more)

If one reads through the list, it would make financial sense compared to the wasting of Tel Aviv of the resources of Gaza in that holocaust. Would not Black Rock and Vanguard, be financial representatives of a commerce of a conglomerate enterprise in making use of vermin that no one wants?

Why return them to their native lands which expelled them with Obama's help? Would it not make more sense as Kiev needs bodies for their war with Russia to send 50 million invaders to Kiev to fight Russia?

There would not be age nor any limits on exporting as if a border buster was here for 50 years, would be equal to someone like Birther Hussein or Kamala Harris, both having entered the United States by anchor baby means. This is a ready crop to be shared with our allies in Kiev.

There would be plenty of gas, housing, food, crime would disappear…………hell let Donald Trump take one Jared Kushner step further in emptying all those prisons for profit. I have a major update to bring you in the motion to remove Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and her paramour, special prosecutor Nathan Wade, from the election interference case against former President Donald Trump in Georgia.

Through attorney Phil Holloway, we’ve gotten our hands on 31 pages of texts between attorneys Ashleigh Merchant and Terrence Bradley (i.e. the admissions by Wade’s friend and former lawyer that they did not want you to see).

The Hearing

There was a mind-blowing hearing in Fulton County Superior County on Tuesday afternoon that saw Bradley – Wade’s one-time law partner, divorce attorney, and friend – take the stand. He did not want to be there, and he made that abundantly clear as he obfuscated and did a whole lot of not recalling things. It was downright uncomfortable.

Wade was actually in the courtroom yesterday as Bradley testified. He had tried to stop it from happening at all, but Judge Scott McAfee ruled the testimony must go forward and Bradley had to testify about the Wade-Willis romance and what he knew about it.

Key to this story are texts that Bradley and defense attorney Ashleigh Merchant exchanged over several months in 2023 and early 2024. Merchant is representing Trump co-defendant Michael Roman and is the lawyer who filed the motion to disqualify in January.

The texts show Bradley told Merchant that Willis and Wade’s affair began prior to him being hired to prosecute Trump in November 2021 (something they both denied under oath). But when Bradley took the stand, he seemingly forgot it all. The man might want to check with the doctor because he’s clearly having some early onset dementia.

Bradley tried to claim in his testimony that he was merely speculating in his messages with Merchant, so we’ll walk you through them and you let you decide.

Here is a portion of text exchanges we received that show Merchant and Bradley texting in September 2023. As you will see, the conversations continued on and off until just last month.

The “Chris” Merchant is likely talking about is Wade’s law partner Christopher Campbell. I’m sorry, but this is not how someone who knows nothing about an affair sounds.

Flash forward to January 2024. Before Merchant filed her motion requesting Nathan Wade, Fani Willis, and the entire DA’s office be disqualified from further prosecuting this case, records show she and Bradley further discussed the details of Willis and Wade’s relationship.

Blanco County officials not releasing records into Angela Chao's death investigation

Blanco County authorities investigating the death of Angela Chao, the Foremost Group CEO who died last week at a private Central Texas ranch, have repeatedly declined to provide basic information or records in days since the fatal incident.

Chao, 50, is believed to have drowned Feb. 11 after her car entered a body of water on the property, a law enforcement source told the American-Statesman. An investigation by the Blanco County sheriff's office remained ongoing Tuesday, a county spokesperson said.

The circumstances of the death are unclear. Other than a brief statement on Feb. 15 describing the incident as an "unfortunate accident," sheriff's office officials have declined to provide additional information, including any relevant reports requested by the Statesman under the Texas Public Information Act.

In the brief statement, Chief Deputy Robert Woodring said sheriff deputies responded to a "possible water rescue" at the ranch. Emergency medical responders tried to revive Chao, who "succumbed from being underwater." The statement did not include an address or call times.

On Feb. 11, EMS responders were called to the 100 block of Schneider Lane in Johnson City at 12:03 a.m. for a reported water rescue. Upon arrival, about nine minutes later, responders discovered a vehicle underwater with one occupant, said Benjamin Oakley, the EMS chief for Blanco County Emergency Services District No. 1, in a statement Monday.

EMS responders extracted the sole occupant — a 50-year-old woman — and delivered "advanced life support" and resuscitative measures for 43 minutes, Oakley said. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Whether an autopsy was ordered is unclear. The official responsible for making that decision, Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Randy Brodbeck, did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

Under the Texas Public Information Act, government entities must "promptly produce" responsive records or ask the attorney general's office for an opinion on whether they are required to. Upon receiving a request, government entities have 10 business days to determine whether to seek an opinion, for which the attorney general may take weeks to issue.

"The investigation has not been completed yet so no documents have been released," said Kimberly Ashby, the county spokesperson, in a statement Tuesday. Records will be released to media outlets once the investigation has concluded, she added.

Jim Hemphill, an Austin attorney who specializes in Texas open records law and represents the Statesman, said the law generally requires the immediate release of the information the Statesman is seeking, including the time, date and location of an incident. That information in most instances should be made public, despite an ongoing investigation, he said.

However, the law lets a law enforcement agency withhold other types of information if it would interfere with an ongoing investigation.

"It is concerning that Blanco County is not promptly making this information available without any assertion that its release would actually interfere with any investigation," Hemphill said.
