A journalist from NPR poked into rumors about Marc Benioff buying up swaths of land in Hawaii, and it appears the Salesforce CEO got testy.
The reporter, Dara Kerr, published her investigation into the billionaire’s post-2020 land buying on Wednesday. It’s a thoroughly reported piece, titled “A tech billionaire is quietly buying up land in Hawaii. No one knows why.” But along the way, the subject-reporter relationship took a strange turn. Before their second interview, Kerr wrote, Benioff let on that he’d been somehow keeping an eye on Kerr and her family.
