Putin claims he prefers 'more predictable' Biden over Trump
Russian President Vladimir Putin has claimed in an interview on state television that he would prefer "more predictable" Joe Biden to win the upcoming US presidential election than Donald Trump.
Putin made the comments when an interviewer asked him who among Biden and the Republican frontrunners for the nomination would be a better choice from Russia's perspective.
Putin responded, "Biden, he's more experienced, more predictable, he's an old-fashioned politician." "But we will work with any American leader the American people trust."
Speaking at a rally in South Carolina last night, Trump called Putin's words a "great compliment."

"President Putin of Russia actually gave me a huge compliment. He just said he would prefer Joe Biden to be president than Trump," Trump told the crowd in North Charleston. "Now, that's a compliment. A lot of people said, 'Oh, gee, that's too bad.' No, no, it's a good thing."
Putin also commented on Biden's mental state following the release of special counsel Robert Hur's report last week, calling him a "sympathetic, well-intentioned, elderly man with a weak memory."
Putin said, "When I met Biden in Switzerland – true, that was several years, three years ago – people were already saying that he was not capable of this. I didn't see anything like that." Reuters.

The news agency quoted Putin as saying that Trump "is a non-systemic politician; he has his own view on how the United States should develop relations with its allies."
When asked on Saturday about Trump's statement in which he said that he had once warned that he would allow Russia to do whatever it wants with those NATO member countries which reduce their GDP for defense. Putin replied that it is up to the US to decide its role in the alliance.
Trump's statement stands in stark contrast to Biden's pledge to "defend every inch of NATO territory," as the alliance commits all members to do in case of attack.

Cuba has asked the World Food Programme for donations of powdered milk
Cuba has appealed to the World Food Programme (WFP) for help with providing milk to children on the island, for the first time in its history, the UN body has acknowledged.
Havana has admitted to milk shortages for weeks, but has not made the request to the WFP public. The agency confirmed it to the Spanish news agency EFE, in a written statement on Wednesday.
The WFP “has received an official communication from the (Cuban) government requesting support to continue the monthly delivery of 1 kilogram of milk for girls and boys under the age of 7 throughout the country,” the agency’s mission in Cuba said.
The WFP also confirmed that “this is the first time that Cuba has requested assistance” by sending an official communication to the WFP leadership. The UN agency noted the seriousness of the request given the “deep economic crisis that Cuba is facing,” which “significantly affects the food and nutritional security of the population.”
According to EFE, the Cuban request was made “at the end of last year” to the WFP headquarters in Rome, Italy. It did not specify a time frame for the aid, prompting the agency to mobilize additional resources and involve “non-traditional donors” to meet the need.
The WFP has already delivered 144 tons of “skimmed-milk powder,” enough to help “almost 48,000 children between the ages of seven months and three years in Pinar del Rio and Havana.” This is just 6% of the children whom the Cuban government wishes to provide with subsidized milk, however.
Cuban families with children aged seven and younger, as well as people with special dietary needs, receive ration cards that would enable them to buy milk at a heavily subsidized price of 2.5 Cuban pesos (about $0.21). The government has struggled to deliver the milk in recent months, however, and some regions have either imposed further restrictions or replaced milk with “vitaminized drinks.”
Liquid and powdered milk can be bought in Cuba from private companies, but their price is reportedly beyond the reach of most Cubans, who rely on government-subsidized goods.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday evening expressed pessimism that Israel and Hamas could reach a deal to pause fighting in Gaza and release hostages, accusing the terror group of continuing to stonewall Israel rather than make a good faith effort at compromise.
Saying that Israel was continuing to prepare to expand its offensive into the southern Gaza city of Rafah, despite increasingly strident warnings from the international community against such a move, Netanyahu sought to temper expectations for a deal raised by US President Joe Biden earlier this week when he said a deal was “close.”
“We face a brick wall of delusional, unrealistic Hamas demands,” said Netanyahu in a press conference at the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv, adding that the terrorist group “knows its demands are delusional and is not even trying to move close to an area of agreement. That’s the situation.”

DESPICABLE: House ‘Republican’ Prepares Scheme to Force Vote in the House on Funding Ukraine and Undercut Speaker Mike Johnson in the Process
A liberal GOP lawmaker is launching a scheme to undercut House Speaker Mike Johnson and force a vote in the House of Representatives on giving away tens of billions to Ukraine.
As Axios reported, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (RINO-PA) is planning on using a parliamentary procedure known as a discharge petition, making him the first GOPer to signal open defiance against the House leadership.
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the U.S. Senate passed a massive $95.3 billion aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan with no border funding while almost all Americans were sound asleep. With its passage, the bill moved to the House.
Johnson, however, has vowed NOT to put the bill on the floor nor any legislation that does not solve the border crisis. The vast majority of the GOP caucus supports his position.
Fitzpatrick claims the petition will be ready by early March and expects it to garner Republican support.
He would not need much support from the GOP to succeed in his scheme. The GOP only holds a 219-213 majority, thanks to retirements and special election losses.
Axios notes that they spoke to one Republican who vowed to sign the petition “if there’s no other progress.”
The RINO previously joined forces with three other Republicans and four Democrats to introduce a $66 billion “compromise” aid package to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. The plan would also reinstate Trump’s Remain in Mexico policy.
This plan has gone nowhere, however, likely causing Fitzpatrick to shift to a more damaging Plan B.

Jack Smith Proposes New Trial Date For Classified Docs Case as January 6 Case Falters
Special Counsel Jack Smith proposed a new trial date for the classified documents case playing out in a federal court in Southern Florida.
Jack Smith indicted Trump on 37 federal counts in Miami in June for lawfully storing presidential records at his Mar-a-Lago estate which was protected by Secret Service agents.
Trump was charged with 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information and 6 other process crimes stemming from his conversations with his lawyer.
In July Jack Smith hit Trump with 3 additional charges in the investigation into classified documents stored at Mar-a-Lago. The superseding indictment, filed in the Southern District of Florida, claims Trump was part of a scheme to delete security footage from Mar-a-Lago.
The classified documents trial was scheduled to begin on May 20, however, Jack Smith asked for the trial to begin on July 8 in a court filing on Thursday.
This new proposed date of July 8 is the week before the RNC convention (more election interference).
President Trump on Thursday asked for the classified documents trial to begin on August 12.

Amid genocide, EU eyes more trade with Israel
It must never be forgotten that von der Leyen offered her full backing to Israel’s current war on Gaza as soon as it was declared.
While she may be choosing her words more carefully these days, the institution which she heads remains depraved.
On 15 February, Dimiter Tzantchev, the European Union’s ambassador in Tel Aviv, tweeted that he had a “good meeting” with Roey Fisher, who had just taken up a new senior level post in Israel’s economy ministry.
Following a freedom of information request, it was confirmed that the meeting was arranged by trade officials working for the European Commission (the EU’s executive).
Less than three weeks earlier, the same European Commission had signaled that it was taking seriously the order which the International Court of Justice delivered to Israel.
The European Commission expected the “full, immediate and effective implementation” of the court’s “provisional measures.” The measures included a demand that Israel stop killing Palestinians in Gaza.
Israel has not respected those measures, all of them aimed at halting or preventing genocide. And yet the European Commission has been exploring ways to strengthen its economic relations with Israel at a time when it is perpetrating genocide, widely regarded as the worst crime against humanity.
Profiting from war crimes
In his 15 February tweet, Dimiter Tzantchev commended legislation known as “What is good for Europe is good for Israel.”
The aim of that bill is to cut the number of inspections at ports in Israel of goods already approved by the EU.
The phrase “what is good for Europe is good for Israel” was uttered by Benjamin Netanyahu in May last year.
Netanyahu was celebrating how the French supermarket chain Carrefour had entered the Israeli market. As red tape is being removed, goods on Carrefour’s shelves will “not need to pass the unnecessary bureaucratic impediment of receiving an Israeli standard,” the prime minister said.
Carrefour has subsequently boasted that it donated “thousands of personal shipments” to Israel’s troops. The firm has even expressed pride in contributing to Israel’s “national effort” – a euphemism for the Gaza genocide.
