they should contest it that is the entire problem with the justice system you can not assume you will be treated fairly and especially these corrupt judges every one of their cases should get thrown out. There is a thing where they can say the current thing is corrupt but the prior judgements should be assumed they were done correctly but its all a shit show and the entire court system is broken. It opens the floodgates and every state has this problem.
what is there to catch the fallout? Every court is damaged because of this. Top on down. That is part of what this helps show. It is all such a joke. People in a prison industrial complex placed there no matter their crime by a corrupt legal system and even if they belong in jail can they ever be sure they had a proper and fair trial . This is a shit show that has not even hit its levels of people realizing how the entire legal system is being destroyed.
and even if you have a system to replace on day one does that diminish the corruption of what people have experienced. Or the questions by having to participate in that system? The damage done to all of society because of it. There are just too many questions about the future when it comes to that. But the destruction of the legal system is visible. The question is when will people stop being compliant as a realization of this.

the legal system has been broken on all sides for so long. You are right there are victims and if the people get out of jail on a technicality that sucks, but the philosophical questions are where the problems often lie in these big ideas. Even the idea of are all punishments equal, what is or should not be considered are all laws just especially if they were written by corrupt and treasonous people. Color of law colors everything, not just the future but the past and present. It colors all those involved and when the trust in the system has been betrayed its very very very dangerous.
as you should be. We are not going into easy times with easy answers and to also know that answers we have been provided could also be wrong and we have to rediscover even those ideas. Controversial ideas and hard conversations will have to be had and depending on the level of disclosure some of those will be easier. The fallout is going to be bad, just a fact.
