KommieforniaAnon here. Personal report. Spent 4th of July at a friend's place in the bastion of Anti-America (East San Jose) watching World Cup re-runs with a buddy in Spanish. Despite all the America bashing over the years, you could hear new immigrant kids chanting "USA! USA! USA!" while they were lighting off fireworks in the street on the 4th.
