Listening to that album at 15 inspired a guitar being picked up, though severed tendons in the fingers of the right hand 5 years later kind of put an end to pursuing that interest. Making a guitar sound like a car stalling, trying to start, and then taking off blew the mind all those decades ago.
Started out on percussion, regular drum set, xylophone, kettle drums, then quit band to take shop. Didn't understand why the band teacher lost his shit over that and was an asshole to me all the way until graduation but I kind of left him with no percussion section in the school band. KEK.
