Actor Drake Bell Says He Was Sexually Abused at Age 15 By Nickelodeon Dialogue Coach

In a new documentary series, Drake Bell, a former child star actor, disclosed that he was a victim of sexual abuse by his ex-Nickelodeon dialogue coach, Brian Peck.

Bell made his claims during a new documentary series by Investigation Discovery titled “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” which is set to be released on March 17th.

Investigation Discovery, in a press release, wrote, “Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell will be sharing publicly, for the first time, the story of the abuse he suffered at the hands of Brian Peck, his former dialogue coach who was convicted in 2004 for his crimes against Drake and ordered to register as a sex offender.”

Business Insider reported Peck was arrested in 2003 on 11 allegations that he sexually abused an unnamed child.

Peck, in 2004, pleaded no contest “to performing a lewd act with a 14- or 15-year-old and to oral copulation with a minor under 16” and was sentenced to 16 months in prison and ordered to register as a sex offender.

Drake Bell is coming forward about the abuse he allegedly endured that led to the conviction of his dialogue coach, Brian Peck, who is a registered sex offender.

On Tuesday, Investigation Discovery shared a teaser of its upcoming docuseries “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV.” The series aims to uncover “the toxic and dangerous culture behind some of the most iconic children’s shows of the late 1990s and early 2000s” on Nickelodeon under former producer Dan Schneider, according to a release.

Bell takes a seat in the interview chair at the end of the brief clip. According to the release, this is the “Drake and Josh” star’s first time identifying himself as the victim of Peck’s alleged abuse that led to his conviction in 2004.

Peck was arrested in August 2003 on a charge of lewd acts with a child, according to a press release from the Los Angeles Police Department. The arrest stemmed from a 2001 incident in which the actor allegedly molested a child he was coaching over a six-month period.

As Egypt Implements Massive Devaluation Of Currency, Sending Pound Tumbling, Unrest & Instability On Horizon

The Egyptian pound crashed Wednesday as the government initiated a devaluation of more than 38%, while also hiking interest rates, in order to attract billions more in loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Already with one of the world's highest levels of foreign debt, Egypt is trying to avoid potential default in the coming years, and has been propped up by loans and central bank deposits from Persian Gulf states and the IMF. Like other governments in the region, particularly Lebanon, Egypt has long had a severe shortage of foreign-currency reserves, resulting in the Central Bank of Egypt artificially propping up the pound's value, leading to a robust black market exchange.

The central bank announced Wednesday, "The unification of the exchange rate is crucial, as it facilitates the elimination of foreign-exchange backlogs following the closure of the spread between the official and the parallel exchange-rate markets." It will allow "the exchange rate to be determined by market forces."

The statement said it further raised the overnight lending rate to 28.25% and its overnight deposit rate to 27.25%, and crucially that it would let the Egyptian pound trade freely on international markets, in a bid toward quashing inflation.

The central bank said of its drastic moves that they are "backed by the steadfast support of multilateral and bilateral partners" and that "sufficient funding has been secured to avail foreign exchange liquidity."

Last month we previewed the $35 billion deal that will see the United Arab Emirates develop a sprawling portion of prime Mediterranean coast in Egypt's northwest. It marks the largest foreign direct investment in an urban development project in the country's modern history. This expected windfall of foreign exchange is badly needed as local businesses have been suffering and the cost of imported goods has soared.

Economic conditions have only steadily worsened by the increasing strain of over five months of war in neighboring Gaza, amid an ever-present risk that all of this together could fuel popular unrest and destabilization in northern Africa's most populace country.

The Wall Street Journal noted, "The market reaction was swift, as Egypt’s pound lost more than half its value against the U.S. dollar, and was trading at around 48.0, compared with 30.9 at Tuesday’s close."

MSNBC Cuts Off Trump Victory Speech; Claims It's "Irresponsible" To Broadcast

MSNBC’s salty anchor Rachel Maddow once again cut away from Donald Trump giving a victory speech after winning 15 of the Super Tuesday states, reasoning that it is “irresponsible to allow” Trump to “knowingly lie.”

As Trump was speaking, Maddow interjected “Yeeeaaaah okay,” while one of the other clowns laughed in the background.

The anchor then stated, “I will say it is a decision that we revisit constantly in terms of the balance between allowing somebody to knowingly lie on your air about things they have lied about before and you can predict they are going to lie about, so therefore, it is irresponsible to allow them to do that.”

Maddow continued, “It is a balance between knowing that that is irresponsible to broadcast and also knowing that as the de facto soon to be de facto nominee of the Republican party, this is not only the man who is likely to be the Republican candidate for president, but this is the way he is running.”

MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle chimed in “Well here is how to balance it. We fact check the hell out of him.”

Assassination Attempt On Zelensky? Russian Missile Strikes Near President's Motorcade While In Odesa

Ukraine's key southern port city of Odesa has been coming under increased Russian drone and rocket attack of late, resulting in fears that Moscow could possibly be eyeing its takeover next.

It is perhaps for this reason that President Volodymyr Zelensky made a visit Wednesday to the Black Sea hub. In a bit of risky move, the Ukrainian leader also brought along Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for the official visit. Russia reportedly sent missiles or drones against the city at the very moment of their visit.

Zelensky and Mitsotakis said explosions rang out while they toured Odesa. "We heard the sound of sirens and explosions that took place near us. We did not have time to get to a shelter," Mitsotakis told reporters. There are emerging reports and allegations that this was a targeted assassination attempt.

"It is a very intense experience… It’s really different to read about the war in newspapers, and to hear it with your own ears, see it with your own eyes," Mitsotakis said of the strikes that reportedly hit close.

Zelensky in turn said before a press conference that he's heard initial reports of "dead and wounded" from Wednesday's fresh Russian strike on Odesa. "You can see who we are facing. They don’t care where they strike," he told reporters.

Some online pundits are going so far as to call it an 'assassination attempt' targeting Zelensky, given some reports say at least one of the strikes hit very near where the pair were visiting. According to Politico:

While it could be that they are playing it up for drama and sympathy, PM Mitsotakis appaered to confirm that the explosion was close. "Shortly afterwards, as we were getting into our cars, we heard a big explosion," he said. Greek officials told the Protothema news out that a missile landed and exploded merely about 500 feet away.

"This is one more reason why all European leaders should come to Ukraine. Because it is one thing to hear the description from the media or from President Zelenskyy and it is quite another to experience the war first-hand," he continued.

New evidence confirms Israel’s full involvement in ‘Flour Massacre’ of starving Palestinian civilians

Palestinian territory– Several recent developments confirm Israel’s full involvement in what has been dubbed the “Flour Massacre”, revealed Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor in a new statement, referring to the killing of Palestinian civilians attempting to receive humanitarian aid at dawn last Thursday. Euro-Med Monitor said that its ongoing investigations into the horrific incident at the Nabulsi roundabout, southwest of Gaza City, verify the Israeli army’s role in the massacre, citing evidence including the precise type of bullets used and reiterating calls for an effective international investigation to hold Israeli officials accountable.

After examining the bullet in question, Euro-Med Monitor discovered that its form and dimensions were identical to those of the bullet described above. Unlike other bullets with diametres of 5.56 mm, this one has an especially high ability to penetrate 3 mm of steel, despite not being considered armour-piercing.

9 New ‘Independent’ Advisers to CDC Publicly Promoted Vaccines or Took Money From Pharma — or Both

After struggling for months to fill seats on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s vaccine advisory committee, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced nine new appointees. All have financial ties to vaccine makers or have publicly promoted COVID-19, RSV and HPV vaccines — or both.

Nine new members named to the committee that advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on vaccine recommendations have financial ties to pharmaceutical companies or have worked with public health agencies to promote the COVID-19, RSV or HPV vaccines.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in mid-February appointed the new members to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), which shapes U.S. vaccine policy.

Commenting on the new appointments, Children’s Health Defense (CHD) President Mary Holland said:

“ACIP has long been a rubber stamp for any and all vaccines Big Pharma wants to push. But the brazenness of the HHS-Big Pharma fusion has never been so much on display.

“The only silver lining in this grotesque display is that more and more people are waking up to the reality that ACIP has nothing to do with health and everything to do with profit.”

The ACIP is described as an independent, nonfederal expert body made up of professionals with clinical, scientific and public health expertise. The committee decides which vaccines should be recommended to the public, who should take them and how often — recommendations the CDC typically rubber stamps.

This external advisory committee includes a chair, an executive secretary, and 15 voting members — 14 medical experts and a lay member representing consumers.

It also includes a non-voting body that offers input composed of eight ex officio members from other federal health departments and liaison representatives from health-related professional organizations like the American Association of Pediatrics.

However, when the committee convened last week to make its spring recommendations, it was missing so many voting members that it lacked a quorum. Vacant committee spaces on the “independent” committee had to be temporarily filled by government employees —- ex-officio members can be sworn in as temporary voting members.

Over the last year, HHS struggled to fill eight vacancies. An additional four members will be needed when existing members’ four-year terms are up at the end of June.

As seats on the committee sat unfilled, industry news sites like StatNews suggested the committee “appears to be atrophying” and Medriva said there is an “unprecedented lack of expertise in the committee.”

When HHS finally announced the new members to fill the vacancies, it was also reported the new members would be filling spots at last week’s meeting. However, they had not yet taken their positions at the time the meeting occurred on Feb. 28-29.

A CDC spokesperson confirmed to The Defender that nine members have been appointed to the committee, including Dr. Helen Keipp Talbot, an infectious diseases researcher at Vanderbilt University who previously served on the committee from 2018 through 2022 and will rejoin the committee to serve as chair.

Members typically are not eligible for reappointment, but in Talbot’s case, the HHS provided a waiver to that existing policy.

Aron Raskas is a Baltimore lawyer and Israeli firster who believes that since he is a Jew he gets to live on land stolen from Palestinians and he thinks this is a “morally sound” thing to do. I guess he must be fleeing all the anti-Semitism that is rampant in Baltimore. It’s so bad in Baltimore that Zionist slumlord Sam Zell had to buy the local newspaper – no not the Baltimore Jewish Times – but rather the Baltimore Sun – otherwise the Jews would have been driven out from their over forty synagogues there. Others would have had to seek refugee at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall or hide out under their desks at the Baltimore Hebrew University. Of course, due to the rampant anti-Semitism in Baltimore, BHU has had to merge with Towson. This will no doubt cause a flood in refugees from Baltimore into the West Bank. But I digress.

No doubt some others would have had to hide in the basement of the Jewish Museum of Maryland. Other hiding places have been fortified by 900 hundred thousand dollars in grants from the federal goverment to protect Jewish places from terrorism. Noted Islamofascist Senator Barbara Mikulski very proudly announced this grant in October of 2007. No doubt her colleague, also an Islamofascist, Senator Benjamin Cardin, approved. Yup, Maryland is a tough place for a Jew to live. So it’s off to the West Bank.

That rascal Raskas had to flee to the “settlement” of Rimonim which he informs us is in the “heart of the West Bank.” (Please note, that means he is living on land acquired by Israel in the 1967 war that Israel started. Therefore he is in violation of the Geneva Conventions. )

Now, Raskas knows that he is doing something illegal and immoral. It pervades the piece he wrote for that great anti-Semitic newspaper known as the Baltimore Sun. So he has to justify it by telling us that there just aren’t any Palestinians there. Obviously, you can’t steal land from people who do not exist – right?

As one looks out from Rimonim, the most telling fact is what one does not see. Over the miles of rolling hills that unfold across the landscape, there is not a village, building, home or even a herd of sheep to be seen. The scene is the same at other Jewish settlements as well.

It would be sort of like going into Jewish parts of Germany or Poland after WWII and taking over empty Jewish houses because you just couldn’t find any Jews anywhere. But again, I digress.

Okay, so he tells us, it’s fine for him to live in Rimonim because the Palestinians do not live there. Nor do they live anywhere else, apparently.

He knows this is a lie, of course. So he has to back it up with – and I am not making this up – with a quote from Mark Twain. Here goes:

Protests Over the International Israeli Sales Events of Stolen Palestinian Land.

The Israeli events in Canada and the US is also facing major backlash from community residents as well as pro-Palestinian activists over the advertisement of properties located in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, which is not only immoral but also deemed illegal under international law.

In addition to the event being held amid Israel’s war in Gaza, in which Israeli forces have killed more than 30,000 Palestinians, the event takes place amid a period of rising Israeli settler violence against Palestinians. The event, titled the “Great Israeli Real Estate Event”, took place in Montreal on Tuesday evening, and there will be upcoming events in Toronto, New Jersey, and New York this month. The event’s website advertises properties located in several Israeli cities. It also lists the following Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank: Neve Daniel, Efrat, Ma’ale Adumim.

The Jewish Link, a Jewish newspaper from the American northeast region, reported that individuals can register for the events at the website for the company, My Home in Israel.

My Home in Israel lists properties for sale in several areas of the occupied West Bank, including in East Jerusalem. According to the company’s website, the property for sale in occupied East Jerusalem will be available for sale at the exhibition in Teaneck, which will be located at the Congregation Keter Torah synagogue.

The upcoming event in Teaneck was met with outrage from the local community, including from Palestinian, Muslim, and Jewish residents.

The sales events marketing luxury apartments in areas where people are still being bombed, starved, maimed and orphaned is are already distasteful in the extreme, but the Jewish link is marketing these properties as a wise decision due to looming uncertainty in the world and “antisemitism” showing it’s “ugly face”

IRAN SEIZES U.S. OIL SHIPMENT WORTH SOME $50 MILLIONS

Iran has seized a United States-owned shipment of crude oil from a Marshall Islands-flagged tanker that was captured by its forces last year, Iranian media reported on March 6.

The Suezmax crude tanker Advantage Sweet, which was carrying the shipment for the U.S. firm Chevron, was seized by Iranian naval forces last April following an alleged collision with an Iranian boat in the Persian Gulf.

The seizure of the oil shipment, roughly estimated at $50 millions, was carried out based on a Tehran court order in favor of Iranian patients of Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare skin disease that causes the skin to become very fragile and blister easily.

The patents had filed a lawsuit against the “severe physical and mental harm” caused by the non-provision of Swedish-made medicine, which is said to be caused by U.S. sanctions according to the lawsuit.

It’s worth noting that a cargo of Iranian oil was unloaded off the coast of Texas from the Suez Rajan, a Marshall Islands-flagged tanker seized by the U.S. last August. This same tanker, under the name of St Nikolas, was seized in the Gulf of Oman by Iranian naval forces earlier this year following a court order.

The Persian Gulf and nearby waters witnessed in recent years a series of ship seizures by Iran. U.S. attempts to enforce sanctions on Iran provoked many of these seizures, which were more of a reaction by Tehran.

Kushner boasted that the accords were the "beginning of the end of the Israel-Arab conflict," and that tensions between Israelis and Palestinians "aren't as complicated as people have made them out to be."

The Forward speculated that the ADL is changing its tune on Trump due to "money."

Almost all the 23 members of the ADL board of directors who have donated to political candidates primarily support Democrats, according to public records. That's not surprising, given Jews' voting patterns (77% supported Biden in 2020). Even Jewish billionaires overwhelmingly support Democrats.

But ADL also has a few major donors who are among the relative handful of wealthy Jews who back Republicans, including Trump, and have been engaged in efforts to combat anti-Israel protests. These include Seth Klarman, a hedge fund manager; Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots; and Marc Rowan, the billionaire co-founder and CEO of Apollo Global Management, the lead benefactor of the ADL's Civil Society Fellowship program.

Rep. Massie to Bring Julian Assange’s Brother to Biden’s State of the Union

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) will bring Gabriel Shipton, the brother of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, to President Biden’s State of the Union address this Thursday night.

“President Biden will be looking at Julian Assange’s brother, Gabriel Shipton, in the House gallery Thursday night as Biden delivers the State of the Union,” Massie wrote on X.

Bringing Shipton as his guest is part of Massie’s strategy to pressure Biden to drop the charges against Assange, who is facing up to 175 years in prison if extradited and convicted in the US for exposing US war crimes by publishing documents obtained by a source, a standard journalistic practice.

“The US government’s ongoing effort to prosecute Julian Assange threatens the First Amendment rights of Americans and should be opposed,” Massie told The Courier Journal.

“During his term in office, I asked President Trump to pardon Mr. Assange, and I was disappointed by his failure to do so. President Biden should stop seeking Assange’s extradition and should instead drop the criminal charges currently being pursued by the Department of Justice,” he added.

Assange, an Australian citizen, has been held in London’s Belmarsh Prison since the Trump administration indicted him under the Espionage Act in 2019. Last month, Assange’s legal team presented its case for an appeal to the UK home secretary’s decision to extradite Assange to the US, and a decision on whether or not he can appeal is expected to happen soon.

The defense team introduced new evidence, including a bombshell report from Yahoo News that revealed the CIA, under Mike Pompeo at the time, considered kidnapping and even discussed assassinating Assange over WikiLeaks publishing detailed the CIA’s hacking tools, known as Vault 7.

WikiLeaks and Assange supporters are asking Americans to put pressure on Congress to oppose the extradition. Americans can call their House representatives to support H.Res.934, a bill introduced by Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) that calls for the US to drop the charges against Assange.

Favors that one country gives to another imply leverage that the former can exert on the latter. Withholding, or even threatening to withhold, such largesse, focuses minds within the recipient country’s government and can influence its policies.

The favors that the United States has given to Israel have been enormous, as reflected in $318 billion, adjusted for inflation, in foreign aid through 2022 — far more than the United States has given to any other country since World War II. Thus, the leverage the United States has available to use on Israel is large. But it has used almost none of it.

Even when Israeli policies fly in the face of U.S. preferences, the result is nothing more than a verbal slap on the wrist. Examples include the countless times that construction of more Israeli settlements in occupied territory are followed by timid official U.S. statements but no action — such as Secretary of State Antony Blinken saying last month that he was “disappointed” by Israel’s latest announcement of new settlement construction in the West Bank.

When the subject of employing the leverage is raised, voices in response usually say something similar to what retired general David Petraeus said recently, which was that the United States is “committed” to Israeli security, that we tend to “overestimate the leverage,” and that Israel is currently in a “life and death situation.”

In fact, the days of Israel being a beleaguered, vulnerable state surrounded by strong, hostile neighbors are long gone. Israel has the most potent military in the Middle East — even just at the conventional level, let alone when considering nuclear weapons. Israel’s military offsets any numerical inferiority in raw numbers of troops with advanced technology that far surpasses what any other state in the region enjoys. Despite frequently heard rhetoric that attributes to some regime or group a supposed dedication to “destroying” Israel, no enemy of Israel has anything close to the capability of doing so.

One might argue that this secure Israeli position is thanks in part to all that U.S. assistance, and thus is a reason to continue the aid. But Israel is a wealthy country. It is in the richest 20 percent or even 10 percent of nations in the world, depending on how one measures GDP per capita. Israel can pay by itself for that potent military. The voluminous U.S. aid is a subsidy by American taxpayers to Israeli taxpayers.

Therefore, reduction or termination of the aid would not endanger Israeli security, no matter how much the United States considers itself committed to that security. Israel would spend what it must to meet its own conception of security. But interruption of the voluminous no-strings-attached American subsidy would certainly get the attention of Israeli politicians and thus can have considerable influence on Israeli policy.

In many respects, spending on, and use of, the Israel Defense Forces does not enhance Israeli security and may even detract from it. In recent years, the IDF has been largely occupied with keeping down a subjugated and thus discontented Palestinian population in the occupied territories and protecting Israeli settlements there. This is not a matter of securing Israel but instead of incurring the costs of choosing to cling to conquered territory and sustaining an illegal occupation.

The full range of costs of this use of the IDF was underscored by the lethal Hamas attack on southern Israel last October. One reason Hamas was able to perpetrate its atrocity so easily was that Israel had moved forces from the area in question to the West Bank.

NYCB Announces $1BN Equity Infusion, Fmr Tsy Sec Mnuchin Joins Board

Bloomberg reports that New York Community Bancorp plans to announce an equity investment of more than $1 billion led by Steven Mnuchin’s Liberty Strategic Capital, Hudson Bay Capital and Reverence Capital Partners, according to a spokesperson for the bank.

Liberty will invest $450 million, Hudson Bay $250 million and Reverence $200 million as part of the transaction, the spokesperson said.

In connection with the deal, NYCB will reduce the board to nine members, adding new directors, including Mnuchin and Joseph Otting, former comptroller of the currency.

Secretary Steven Mnuchin stated:

"In evaluating this investment, we were mindful of the Bank's credit risk profile. With the over $1 billion of capital invested in the Bank, we believe we now have sufficient capital should reserves need to be increased in the future to be consistent with or above the coverage ratio of NYCB's large bank peers."

Burke Co. officials arrest 8 for child sex-related crimes in state, national investigations

MORGANTON, N.C. (WBTV) - The Burke County Sheriff’s Office recently completed two joint investigations with a focus on potential sexual predators and repeat/recidivist sex offenders, the department said Tuesday.

Operation Heart Breaker ran from Feb. 1-27. Investigators with the sheriff’s departments, FBI and US Marshals followed up on tips from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

From there, deputies say they were able to identify people who had child sexual abuse material, multiple child victims in Burke County and surrounding states, and interrupt active child sex abuse productions within the county.

Additionally, the department was part of Operation Safe Kids along with surrounding counties and state and national law enforcement.

Operation Safe Kids included compliance checks with registered sex offenders currently on probation and living within Burke County.

Polk County Sheriff's Office arrests 228 people in undercover operation

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd held a news conference Tuesday to announce the results of the undercover operation, which began on Feb. 22 and targeted suspects involved in soliciting prostitutes, offering to commit prostitution or aiding and abetting prostitutes

A whopping 228 arrests were made by a Florida sheriff's office during an 8-day human trafficking operation targeting prostitution, officials said.

The arrests were made during what the Polk County Sheriff's Office dubbed "Operation March Sadness 2024."

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd held a news conference Tuesday to announce the results of the undercover operation, which began on Feb. 22 and targeted suspects involved in soliciting prostitutes, offering to commit prostitution or aiding and abetting prostitutes.

Judd said 150 suspects were arrested for soliciting a prostitute and traveling to the undercover location to negotiate having sex in exchange for money. Twelve other suspects were arrested, and of those, 8 were either deriving proceeds from prostitution or transporting prostitutes to the undercover location.

Five men arrested in child-trafficking operation in Danville

Five men are in custody following an Illinois State Police investigation into a “human-trafficking operation” in the Danville area.

State police said members of the Trafficking Enforcement Bureau in the Division of Criminal Investigation conducted a two-day operation starting Feb. 28 that was focused on identifying individuals seeking to engage in sex acts with children for money.

That resulted in the arrests of Brett A. Wright, 42, of Danville; Andrew M. Cravens, 44, of Danville; Eric H. Schmidt, 46, of Lisle; Bradley J. Wagoner, 46, of Westville; and Salem K. Khan, 37, of Cheektowaga, N.Y., on charges of indecent solicitation/aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child, a Class 3 felony; traveling to meet a child, a Class 3 felony; and solicitation to meet a child, a Class 4 felony. In addition to those charges, Wagoner was also charged with possession of less than 5 grams of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony.

The operation was part of a multifaceted approach by state police aimed at stopping human trafficking in Illinois.

Danville police Deputy Chief Terry McCord said his department was aware of the state police investigation, but no Danville officers were involved, nor has the department conducted an investigation into child trafficking in Danville before.

Participating in the operation with state police were the Vermillion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group, East Central Illinois Task Force, Task Force 6 personnel and Homeland Security Investigations. The Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office also provided support.
