Question: I'm troubled about this 'Find The Votes' book. Are you saying that the prosecutor [Willis] has been discussing an ongoing prosecution, and her prosecutorial strategy, and indictment strategy, to authors of a book during the course of the prosecution?

Merchant: Yes.

Question: And that book is now come out?

Merchant: It is.

Question: Is that a violation of ethical obligations, in some way to be publicly discussing, just like the public statements you made about the guilt of the defendant?

Merchant: Yes, definitely. We allege that, and argue that as far as forensic misconduct. It's very surprising; shocking.

Jean-Pierre: We are not, we are definitely not pushing the prime minister to resign. That is not what we are doing, but we have underscored that now is the time to finalize a political accord to help set Haiti on a path to a better future.

Reporter: Back in February of 2021, [Biden] said Donald Trump should not be given the traditional intelligence briefings that were given to former presidents, because, "What value is giving him an intelligence briefing? What impact does he have at all, other than the fact that he might slip and say something?" Does [Biden] still feel that way now, now that Donald Trump is on the way to becoming the republican party's nominee, and would be entitled to the briefings that a party candidate would get?

Jean-Pierre: I think [Biden's] words stand todayโ€ฆI don't think his mind has changed on that.

Reporter: Would you do anything to block him from getting these briefings later this year?

Jean-Pierre; I don't have anything to add, but [Biden] was very clear about how he felt about that, and I would say those comments are going to stand.

Reporter; Now that the field is down to two, is [Biden] going to commit to a debate with Donald Trump?

Jean-Pierre: That's something for the campaign to speak to.

Reporter: We know when the debates are going to be. We know where they are going to be. Is he going to go?

Jean-Pierre: You should speak to the campaign.

Reporter: In 2020, once it got down to one on one, Joe Biden said, "I can hardly wait to debate him." How about that?

Jean-Pierre: I'm going to sound like a broken record. You should reach out to the campaign.

Reporter: Why is this a campaign thing?

Jean-Pierre: Because it's an election. It's a debate for the 2024 presidential election.

Reporter: I'm not asking what argument he is going to make at a debate, I'm-

Jean-Pierre: We're not talking about arguments, you're talking about his attendance. You need to talk to the campaign.

Reporter: Do you think it is going to quiet concerns about [Biden's] age and acuity if he decides not to debate?

Jean-Pierre: What I can say about that is, not talking about the debate., That is something for the campaign to speak to. Not going to speak about that.

Reporter: It's possible that there will be no Joe Biden, Donald Trump, debates this fall?

Jean-Pierre: Is that what you're excited about? Is that what you want to see? Because you keep asking me. You've asked me about three, four, five different times, in different ways.

Reporter: How would [Biden] do in a debate?

Jean-Pierre [excitedly]: You literally saw just last year, back in January, 2023, at the last State of The Union, take on republicans during giving a major speech. He took them on as they were heckling himโ€ฆhe stood there and fought for the American people. That was pretty impressive.
