A buncha Masons in one family that's Catholic to the millionth degree owning one of the largest and most locally historically revered construction companies in a major city in the early to mid 1900s.

Yep, they're connected as fuck. I'm the offspring of a shitty human being adopted into one of these families.

They smile to your face. Most mean it I'm sure, but the ones who don't…RUN.

Here's the kicker. We need to know the plays we've made in the past against these bastards. And we need to know who we are. What our purpose is. Our purpose might be more grand than anyone could imagine, but the endgame needs us to be ready before it can start. Maybe. Or it's almost 3am and I've finally lost my bloody mind.

Lifelong issue for me.

So I've been there, done that.

My only logical non weird reason would be that once the background noise, which you maybe focused on was gone, your brain clicked right back to focusing on the ringing. Our brains are a mystery even to us, after all. I basically live with a fan on. Or music. Though it's popped up before events that it's caused me to pause and think for a moment, only to avoid said incident. So I have no clue.
