Fort Worth-area Congressional Seat Goes to Runoff

"State Rep. Craig Goldman will be facing off against businessman John O’Shea in the Republican Primary runoff election for U.S. House District 12.

 

The congressional seat opened when U.S. Rep. Kay Granger announced her retirement late last year, with Goldman and O’Shea competing for the spot along with three other candidates.

 

Goldman (R-Fort Worth) is currently the representative for Texas House District 97. His ratings based on his voting record include a 52 from Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, a 62 from Young Conservatives of Texas, and a 68 from Texas Right to Life.

 

Goldman’s record includes voting to weaken the death penalty, expand corporate welfare, impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton—who was later acquitted by the Senate—and legalize sports betting and casino gambling in Texas.

 

His listed priorities are securing the border, prioritizing the American taxpayer, defending the Second Amendment, advocating for unborn life, maintaining religious liberty, and fighting the liberal agenda.

 

Goldman’s endorsements include Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, and Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker."
