Those explosions were relayed through the Media. TV clips audio it very clearly reflected multiple explosions.
The explosions at ground level were to misdirect people to assume it must've been a "pancake collapse" which , after all, it wasn't.
This all took years and many students of the event to work it out. to riddle out what likely happened.
Some were quick though. Some saw certain things immediately, and others took a while to catch up and see it..
