Christ is often translated as Anointed One. But what is the consciousness inherent in that state? In Cayce Reading 5749-14, Thomas Sugrue (author of There Is A River) offered a definition of Christ Consciousness and asked if it was correct. The reading affirmed that it was:

“(Q) Should the Christ-Consciousness be described as the awareness within each soul, imprinted in pattern on the mind and waiting to be awakened by the will, of the soul's oneness with God?

“(A) Correct. That's the idea exactly!”

This pattern of Christ Consciousness exists like a seed within every human being, with the potential to develop into full Christhood if awakened by the will. It’s all about Oneness—the soul’s oneness with God. But fulfilling the pattern is more than just intellectual knowledge of that Oneness. It’s the full experience and expression of the Oneness—fully living out that identity while in a physical body.

We all have the potential to be Christs. In fact, this earth plane could be thought of as a school where we learn to develop Christhood.
