French President Emmanuel Macron has finally responded to longstanding rumors that his 70-year-old wife Brigitte was born a man.

Macron, 47, married Brigitte in 2007. They had began dating when she was 40 and married — and he was her 15-year-old student at the Catholic Providence school in Amiens.

The New York Post reports, “Though the French age of consent is 15, Brigitte was concerned about her relationship with Macron and how it would affect her kids.”

Brigitte’s daughter was Emmanuel’s classmate.

As the French debated the unconventional personal life of their head of state, MailOnline obtained details of a judgement handed down at the Caen Appeal Court last June.

It refers to two defendants – Amandine Roy, a 52-year-old clairvoyant, and Natacha Rey, 48, who styled herself as a freelance journalist.

Both had appeared on a four-hour YouTube video in December 2021 in which they claimed that Brigitte was born as a baby boy called Jean-Michel Trogneux in 1953.

This is infact the name of Brigitte’s brother, and Ms Macron was called Brigitte Trogneux before her first marriage.

The defendants also claimed that Brigitte’s first husband, André-Louis Auzière, had never actually existed before his reported death in 2020, aged 68.

The women were both found guilty of libel.

Macron addressed the allegation on Friday at an International Women’s Day event in Paris, calling them “false and fabricated.”

“The worst thing is the false information and fabricated scenarios,” Macron said. “People eventually believe them and disturb you, even in your intimacy.”

Brigitte’s daughter, Tiphaine Auzaine, 40, also addressed the rumors last month in an interview with Paris Match.

“I have concerns about the level of society when I hear what is circulating on social networks about my mother being a man,” Auzaine said. “The confidence of what is affirmed and the credit given to what is proclaimed. Anyone can say anything about anyone, and it takes time to get it taken down.”

"I'm not happy about people dying but I think it's a leverage that we have.

"So if there are kids dying, babies dying, people starving, they need to also do something to help themselves. So, give up Hamas."

Israel strikes one of biggest apartments blocks in Rafah

Israel struck one of the largest residential towers in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip on Saturday, residents said, stepping up pressure on the last area of the enclave it has not yet invaded and where over a million displaced Palestinians are sheltering.

The 12-floor building, located 500 metres from the border with Egypt, was damaged in the strike. Dozens of families were made homeless though no casualties were reported, according to residents. The Israeli military did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the incident.

One of the tower’s 300 residents told Reuters that Israel gave them a 30-minute warning to flee the building at night.

“People were startled, running down the stairs, some fell, it was chaos. People left their belongings and money,” said Mohammad Al-Nabrees, adding that among those who tripped down the stairs during the panicked evacuation was a friend’s pregnant wife.

A Rafah-based official with the Fatah party, which dominates the Palestinian Authority that has limited self-rule in the West Bank, said he feared that hitting the Rafah tower was a sign of an imminent Israeli invasion.

Nature photographer captures rare, spectacular red sprites in skies over WA's Kimberley

A West Australian photographer has captured on camera one of the world's rarest natural phenomena that's almost impossible to see with the naked eye.

Kimberley man JJ Rao was out shooting a wet-season thunderstorm just outside of Derby when he was lucky enough to snap several red sprites.

"About the blink of an eye and it's gone," he said.

"You could sort of describe it as huge, feathery tendrils of reds and purples and specks of really bright red."

He said the sprites — large electrical discharges that can form high above active thunderstorms and the ozone layer — were spectacular to see.

The environmental scientist said the remote location and limited moonlight made for unusual yet perfect shooting conditions.

"It was pretty dark, a little out of town and with a clear view out to a dark sky.

"You think [your] mind might be playing tricks on you … without a camera to actually capture it, it can be quite difficult for people to say that was definitely a sprite."

And he believes the emotional damage wrought by his time at the school in Northamptonshire had an effect on his first two marriages.

The peer, who attended Maidwell between the ages of eight and 13, said he hopes his unflinching account will shine a light on 'how things too often were' in English private schools in the 1970s and bring 'closure' to fellow pupils who were abused.
