I get that. Extremes check one another until the middle ground is found. For collective consciousness, a balance of sorts is kept until we're all in sync (WWG1WGA), i think.
"collective consciousness", the unity of the Body of Christ, WWG1WGA, it's all the same to me. The idea is unity vs separation. no matter what arbitrary divisions we choose to label ourselves with, we're all on the same planet and connected. Labels don't change that. We can't get away from one another if we wanted to. Unified by default, "seemingly" divided on purpose.
