There are 28,145 active warrants out for failed refugee claimants in Canada, new figures from the Canada Border Services Agency reveal.
In response to an order paper commission submitted by Conservative MP Brad Redekopp, the border service shed light on the volume of failed asylum seekers still in the country.
“A CBSA officer may issue a warrant for the arrest and detention of a foreign national if the officer has reasonable grounds to believe the individual is inadmissible under the IRPA and either poses a danger to the public or is unlikely to appear for an immigration process, such as a removal from Canada,” wrote the CBSA in its response.
The CBSA said there are 8,839 asylum claimants pending an eligibility decision as well as 18,684 whose claims have been denied and have an “enforceable removal order.”
Of the failed refugee claimants, 73 are currently detained. Another 12,882 are enrolled in an alternative to detention program, the majority of whom are failed refugee claimants. The Agency said that the figures are not exact because the answers were compiled in a quick time frame. Continue…

A group representing rural municipalities in Saskatchewan is blasting the federal government’s 30% fertilizer emission reduction target in a budget submission.
The Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities sent Ottawa a document which, among other things, pointed out how the government’s agricultural climate plan was unrealistic.
“Saskatchewan is known worldwide as a consistent and reliable supplier of safe, high-quality grains, oilseeds, pulses, livestock, and agri-food products. The United Nations has a goal of eliminating world hunger by 2030,” wrote the municipal group.
“Canada has set a target to increase agriculture exports from $55 billion in 2015 to at least $85 billion by 2025. This 55% increase will not be attainable if the federal government reduces nitrogen fertilizer use by 30%.”
The association recommended that the government abandon what it calls “rigid reductions” and instead “work with industry and grain farmers alike to recognize that steps have already been taken and find workable solutions for the grain industry going forward.” Continue..

The Trudeau government paid thousands to a Toronto social media influencer who has since gone on to bash conservatives in a number of profanity-laced TikTok videos.
According to information published March 18 by Blacklock’s Reporter, the Department of Canadian Heritage paid social media personality Dylan Horner $9,000 to run a promotional campaign for Canada Day 2022.
“Dylan Horner will be required to come to Ottawa to create content on Canada Day programming,” the 2022 document revealed.
“Dylan Horner will have special backstage access to produce behind the scenes content but will need to be accompanied by a member of Department of Canadian Heritage staff,” it continued.
The Toronto-based Tiktoker was the highest paid “social media influencer” hired by the Department of Canadian Heritage in 2022, receiving a total of $9,000 plus expenses for his brief appearance in Ottawa.
Horner’s expenses included “two round trip train tickets from Toronto to Ottawa with VIA Rail Canada and three nights’ stay in a hotel room at the Delta Ottawa.”

Ahead of the April 1 carbon tax hike, Chrystia Freeland refuses to answer how much money the Liberal government has taken out of the pockets of Canadians through the carbon tax.
Speaking yesterday, Conservative MP Marty Morantz had the opportunity to ask Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland a very simple question: “How much has your government collected in carbon taxes.”
Freeland, much like Trudeau, completely dodged the question, stating, “[This is] also an opportunity for me to point out that Manitoba families will be getting $1,200 this year.”
“Again, minister, if I could just have the number [of] how much you’ve collected in carbon taxes,” Morantz persisted.
Again, Freeland completely sidestepped the very straightforward question. According to Freeland, the “key point” that viewers should take away on the carbon tax is that the “price on pollution” is “revenue neutral”. And upon further grilling, she claimed that money taken via the carbon tax is “all money that goes back to Canadians,” which isn’t true.
Of course, Freeland knows the real number, even if she won’t say it out loud, as does the opposition.

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is getting grilled on its involvement in a controversial study that the Trudeau Liberals used to justify their COVID restrictions, including their divisive vaccine passport.
An order paper question filed towards the CIHR from a Conservative MP is asking for more details on the study conducted by David Fisman, titled “Impact of population mixing between vaccinated and unvaccinated subpopulations on infectious disease dynamics: implications for SARS-CoV-2 transmission.”
The study found that the risk of COVID infection was “markedly higher among unvaccinated people than among vaccinated people under all mixing assumptions.”
The CIHR has 45 calendar days to provide a response to questions digging into allegations that the study was bogus — and one that Liberals even mentioned in the House of Commons when justifying their vaccine passports that kept many COVID unvaccinated individuals barred from work, travel, and restaurants.
Questions posed to the CIHR relate to the study’s funding stream, the peer reviewers’ qualifications and names, conflicts of interest, as well as if there was “federal government involvement with, or communication regarding, any component of the application review process, research study, or media outreach.”

According to the OPP, there has been a 206% increase in violent car thefts and home invasions between 2021 and 2023 in Ontario.
Speaking to reporters earlier today, OPP Deputy Commissioner Marty Kearns said, “In 2023, there were 417 carjackings in the GTA (and) 125 of these involved incidents where firearms were seized. The prevalence of firearms in vehicle crimes poses a serious threat to public safety.”
He added that almost 3,000 vehicles had been stolen over the last seven weeks in Ontario.
“In many cases,” Kearns continued, “they were wanted for not only auto theft but also for other many serious offences, including possession of a loaded firearm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and impaired driving.”
“We have encountered accused as young as 16 years old driving vehicles recklessly in attempts to evade police. Several serious motor-vehicle collisions have resulted from these incidents, putting the lives of our police officers and the lives of members of the public at significant risk.”
Kearns added that the speed at which thieves are perpetrating crimes is also distressing, with criminals using sophisticated methods to bypass existing anti-theft technology.
These comments came during an announcement on the results of the interprovincial effort of Quebec police (being the province where many stolen vehicles have been recovered) and the OPP as part of Project Volcano.

Prime Minister Trudeau, once reluctant to greenlight a public inquiry, now finds himself at the center of the hearings.
The Commission examining foreign interference within Canada’s electoral system has announced that starting March 27, over forty individuals including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will testify at the Public Inquiry into Foreign Interference in Federal Electoral Processes and Democratic Institutions, led by Commissioner Marie-Josée Hogue.
Prime Minister Trudeau, once reluctant to greenlight a public inquiry, now finds himself at the center of the hearings.
The hearings aim to delve into the potential foreign influence on the 2019 and 2021 federal elections.
As previously reported, alleged CSIS leaks state that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) interfered in Canada’s 2021 election to help the Trudeau Liberals win and cause the Conservatives to lose.
Over the next two weeks, the Commission will engage with a broad range of stakeholders, including diaspora communities, political figures, and representatives from Elections Canada.
“A goal for these hearings is to give citizens a better understanding of the foreign interference threats our electoral system may have faced in the 2019 and 2021 elections,” Commissioner Hogue said.
The move follows intense scrutiny over Trudeau’s handling of foreign interference allegations, including the controversial engagement of a family friend to conduct an investigation into the matter instead of a public inquiry. His family friend, David Johnston, eventually stepped down amid criticisms alleging he was partial to Trudeau.

Russian firefighters have managed to contain the fire at the Crocus City Hall, which was set ablaze by a group of terrorists on Friday evening.
Fire brigades are working to put out the remaining flames, the Emergencies Ministry told the media in its latest update on the situation.
The arson was part of an assault by unidentified perpetrators, which left at least 40 people dead and over 140 injured in the city of Krasnogorsk, west of Moscow.
