"I consider Facebook to be an enemy of the people, along with the media,” said former President Donald Trump.
The stock of Meta, the parent company of Facebook, dropped on both days that former President Donald Trump called the social media platform “an enemy of the people.”
On Monday, Trump did an interview on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” criticizing Facebook after expressing his opposition to a bill going through the House of Representatives that will regulate TikTok.
“Frankly, there are a lot of people on TikTok that love it. There are a lot of young kids on TikTok who will go crazy without it. There are a lot of users,” Trump said.
“There’s a lot of good and a lot of bad with TikTok. But the thing I don’t like is, without TikTok, you can make Facebook bigger. And I consider Facebook to be an enemy of the people, along with the media,” he added.
Meta’s shares dropped by about 4.5 percent to just under $484 on Monday, after Trump’s interview. It was the lowest closing for Meta since last July, Forbes reported.
On Thursday, a House panel unanimously passed a bill that gives TikTok's China-based parent company, ByteDance, 165 days to sell the social media platform. Lawmakers said the bill could be taken up by the House as early as this week and President Biden told reporters Friday that he would sign the bill if Congress passes it.
Trump tried to ban TikTok in 2020 but was blocked by courts.
Last week, Trump posted on Truth Social that he opposes the bipartisan TikTok bill.
“If you get rid of TikTok, Facebook and Zuckerschmuck will double their business,” he wrote. “I don’t want Facebook, who cheated in the last Election, doing better. They are a true Enemy of the People!”
Following Trump’s post, Meta’s shares dropped by 1.2 percent on Friday, according to CNN.

The political weaponization in the state of New York reached another new low as New York City Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanagh has ordered a “hunt down” of New York firefighters who chanted ” Trump” at New York Attorney General Letitia James. Unsurprisingly, New York City Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanagh is a Hillary Clinton donor and rabid supporter. Kavanagh is yet another New York state official who has been suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome since Trump’s defeat of Clinton, making Kavanagh willing to weaponize her power to silence President Trump and his supporters.
FEC records show that Laura Kavanagh donated multiple times to Hillary for America and frequently to ACT Blue during Clinton’s failed 2016 presidential run. Kavanagh seems to love donating to the powers running the Democrat Party, as she has also donated to Katherine Clark, the House Democrats’ WIP. It is also interesting to note that Kavanagh proudly displayed her FDNY fire employment next to her donations, meaning the New York City Fire Commissioner can have a public political voice while the firefighters cannot.

Loomer posted on this development, “If a member of @FDNY disagrees with the ideologies of Communist Commissioner Laura Kavanagh @FDNYFC, she may “hunt” you down. No surprise though. A quick look at her political donations shows that she is a big Biden, Obama, and Democrat donor. Tish James is a Biden operative who is working on behalf of the Democrats to target Donald Trump in an election year.”

Donations are not the only form of support Kavanagh has shown Clinton. Earlier this month, Kavanagh and Clinton shared the stage at a Columbia Institute of Global Politics forum, where they praised each other. Loomer captioned this video, “Oh look! It’s @FDNYFC NYC Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanagh and @HillaryClinton hanging out praising each other. This is the same Laura Kavanagh who is now trying to hunt down the NYC fire fighters who booed the anti-Trump, NY AG @TishJames the other day at a ceremony. Totally not political though. Just all of Trump’s political opponents Targeting his supporters like modern day Gestapo!”

It is also important to note that New York Attorney General Letitia James, who is one of the leading election interferers, leading lawsuits forcing President Trump off the campaign trail and into New York courtrooms, is a big fan of Laura Kavanagh once posting, “Congratulations to Laura Kavanagh on her historic appointment as @FDNY Commissioner. The members of @FDNY put their lives on the line every day to protect New Yorkers, and I’m confident that Commissioner Kavanagh will effectively lead New York’s bravest and our city forward.”

In a memo sent to all New York City Firehouses, Kavanagh informed firefighters that those who chanted “Trump” at AG James should come forward now so “we don’t have to hunt them down.”

Commissioner Kavanagh is the latest Hillary Clinton supporter in New York City to use her power to abuse Trump supporters. Kavanagh is another example proving that President Trump and his supporters will never be treated fairly by the state of New York.
