Former President Donald Trump has vowed to release individuals imprisoned over the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol if he wins the 2024 election in November.

President Trump made the comments in a statement on Truth Social on March 11, noting that it would be among one of his first acts upon taking office in the White House.

The Republican said shutting down the U.S.-Mexico border and increasing oil drilling as part of efforts to make America more energy independent would also be among his first actions as president.

“My first acts as your next President will be to Close the Border, DRILL, BABY, DRILL, and Free the January 6 Hostages being wrongfully imprisoned!” President Trump said.

President Trump said during a rally in Texas in 2022 that he would consider pardoning those convicted of their involvement in the Jan. 6 breach, noting that his administration would treat them “fairly.”

“If it requires pardons, we will give them pardons, because they are being treated so unfairly,” he said at the time.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Former Gonzaga John Stockton has filed a lawsuit over state sanctions on doctors who spread alleged COVID-19 disinformation.

Stockton has been an outspoken critic of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He was suspended from attending Gonzaga basketball games when he refused to wear a mask.

The lawsuit was filed on March 7 with COVID-19 skeptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr. among the attorneys representing Stockton. A number of medical professionals including Clarkston-based ophthalmologist Richard Eggleston are also listed as plaintiffs.

Eggleston is currently the subject of a medical commission administrative proceeding in connection to a column in which he questioned whether COVID-19 exists. The lawsuit said he's been "active in trying to assert his Constitutional rights."

The lawsuit names Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson and the executive director of the Washington Medical Commission as defendants. It seeks a preliminary and permanent injunction against a policy that allows the commission to discipline doctors who promote COVID-19 misinformation.

“There is no place for the government, under the guise of regulating physicians and protecting the public, to censure, restrict or sanction the content and viewpoint of the publicly expressed views of physicians on Covid or any other subject, just because the government does not like the message or thinks it is wrong," the lawsuit states. "Going back 70 years every judge and Supreme Court justice who has written on professional soapbox speech has stated that it is fully protected by the First Amendment and/or said that it cannot be the subject of government regulation or restriction."

There you go again with all of the talk about Trump turning into a dictator.

In fact, what the Democrats are worried about is that the former President is blowing up some of their alliances. Once upon a time, Democrats woke up on election day with the vote of non-whites in their pockets.

That was then and this is now, as Ruy Teixeira wrote:

According to the just-released New York Times/Siena poll, Biden is actually doing worse among the nonwhite working class, carrying them by a mere six points, than among white college graduates, where he enjoys a 15 point advantage over Trump. Amazing. There is perhaps no better illustration of the Democrats’ transformation into a Brahmin Left party, beloved by the educated but increasingly viewed with suspicion by the working classes of all races.

It's a fascinating change happening in front of our eyes. It looks like the Democrats are engaging in conflicting concerns.

In one corner, the self-appointed smart ones are talking about climate change, gender equity and reproductive rights, but the talk on the other side of the room is about paying their electricity rates or losing their jobs at the South Texas refinery if we go green.

The left corner probably thinks that patriotism is toxic masculinity but the other corner displays their uniforms or show the flag with the upmost pride. In one corner, they listen to NPR, and in the other, talk radio.

Who saw this coming? Trump did when he spoke to the workers in the Midwest who lost a job when the plant left the country.

So get ready for lots of talk about Trump the threat to democracy. Actually, he is turning out to be a threat to the Democrats. They know it and are in full panic.

Newly-released transcripts of secret testimony at the January 6 Committee show that a witness testified then-President Donald Trump had not wrestled with a Secret Service agent, and had indeed requested troops to protect the Capitol.

The transcript of a closed-door interview with Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato and then-Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) on January 28, 2022, was hidden by the committee, as it played up sensational claims that the testimony refuted.

In particular, Cheney boosted the accusations by former Trump aide Cassidy Hutchinson, who claimed publicly — and to great media fanfare — that Trump had tried to commandeer his presidential vehicle to drive to the Capitol riot.

As Breitbart News and others noted at the time of Hutchinson’s dramatic testimony in June 2022, several people — including Ornato — were prepared to testify publicly to refute her claims (which were debunked in other ways as well).

But Cheney and the other members of the committee did not take up Ornato’s offer, repeating the tactic that member Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) had used during the first impeachment inquiry of leaving inconvenient witnesses behind.

Moreover, Cheney and the committee claimed in their final report that there was no evidence Trump had requested 10,000 National Guard troops to protect the Capitol. In fact, Ornato had testified hearing Trump doing exactly that.
