here is a book worth reading on this subject

The idea that a supreme being would only communicate with its "creation" through specially "chosen" prophets is deeply at odds with Nature and the natural flow of life, not to mention rational thought. This book it deals with the dualistic and deeply troubling nature of Yahweh, using the information from the religious works themselves. This is put into the perspective our true past, and the hidden controllers of our planet. The basic moral dilemma of Yahwism is discussed in detail, as is the ultimate march to violence brought about by this dilemma. All these convoluted dialectic disguises what is simply mind control for the purpose of conquest.

The book begins with some basic information about "the Ancient Topological Metaphor of the physical medium." This is described using symbolic logic (and a touch of set theory), and linked to philosophies and ancient culture.

The logical, philosophical, and historical paths traveled in the book take the reader through evidence and analysis to the conclusion regarding the problematic nature of Yahwist religions and their role in the turbulence of our times.

However, the book doesn't preach atheism either.
